Are they also doing this to remove another species? The fox.  I don't see how rabbits can harm woodland and I don't agree with it at all!

We must remember its their home, not ours!  >:(

DO THE BRITISH PUBLIC JOIN OR DONATE TO THE WOODLAND TRUST FOR IT TO GAS RABBITS?

The Woodland Trust is gassing rabbits in their burrows and we have been given the name of a person who is involved in the program.  The initials are JA.

The gas being used is Aluminium Phosphide and is acknowledged not to kill many rabbits outright, as it is only about 65% effective. It is recommended that operators return to the site after 48 hours to see if those that might have survived have reopened the burrows.  This can happen a number of times.

Can you imagine the panic and distress of rabbits, struggling for breath, choking with gas fumes, and at the same time desperately trying to dig their way out of the hell that was their home?

Non-target species can also be similarly affected.

There are other methods of protecting crops and trees from rabbits without gassing them.

The Woodland Trust’s woodlands are the rabbits’ Auchwitz
