Those stories are so sad Dawn, and many others as well.  When I look at Padraig and knowing how wonderful he is, it makes me so sad and  >:( to hear how so many of them are treated.

R.I.P. Snowstorm and all the others we do not know.

Flowers laid today in memory of 'Snowstorm' and other greyhounds

PLEASE LIGHT A CANDLE TODAY IN MEMORY OF 'SNOWSTORM' AND ALL OTHER GREYHOUNDS WHO HAVE SUFFERED AND DIED AT THE HANDS OF THE RACING INDUSTRY.

 :candle:

Today, Sunday 27th January 2008 is sadly the second anniversary of the tragic death of 'Snowstorm', a beautiful greyhound who broke his neck during a race on the Glastonbury track on this day in 2006.

Supporters of the Greyhound Action campaign will be visiting the site where the greyhound track used to be to lay flowers in memory of dear Snowstorm and all other greyhounds who have suffered and died at the hands of the greyhound racing industry. The Glastonbury track thankfully closed in March 2006 after a very strong and consistent campaign against them by the Avon and Somerset Greyhound Action group.

The flowers will also be laid in memory of the greyhound Bushmills Major who died at a Police station in Dalkeith in January 2006 in Scotland, due to the staff forgetting that he had been placed in their kennels as he was brought in as a stray. After ten days the staff noticed a horrendous smell and found the forgotten greyhound lying dead in the kennel. Also another greyhound called Ruby at approximately the same time was abandoned and unfortunately died after a routine operation.
The laying of flowers only proves that these dogs will never be forgotten along with the thousands upon thousands of other greyhounds that have been slaughtered by people involved in the racing industry.

This week three more greyhounds have died on tracks across the country and we also pay tribute to their sad lives and tragic loss.
Greyhounds will continue to suffer and die until greyhound racing is abolished. It is up to all of us to put an end to all this suffering and death by continuing to campaign against this vile industry.
United we stand divided we fall.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF SNOWSTORM AND ALL OTHER GREYHOUNDS WHO HAVE TRAGICALLY PASSED TO RAINBOW BRIDGE

May the road rise up to greet you
May the wind be always at your back
May the sun shine warmly on your face
May the rain fall softy on your fields
'til we meet again
May God hold you in the palm of his hand

LEST WE FORGET!!!

Best wishes

SWAP team
