Over 2 million dogs are brutally killed in South Korea every year.
That's over 5,000 dogs a day who get strangled, burned, electrocuted or beaten to death for their meat.
The South Korean government has accepted Animal Protection Laws which make animal torture illegal, but those laws have never been properly enforced in the country. The dog meat industry continues to thrive and the officials are reluctant and indifferent to ban it.

I have signed it. I wish their was a space for comments. I also believe if there was such a thing as Karma, Korea, China etc would be wiped off the face of the earth. They are disgusting scum >:(

It's a lot different. We don't put rusty old tin cans on lambs mouths and then beat them to death with sticks over a long period or burn them alive, thrown them alive into boiling VATS of water etc.

but we do chop the beaks off chickens and then throw them in boiling vats of water :(

I agree there are some disgusting things going on here as well. I'm not sure they do that though. Personally I wouldn't dream of buying Bernard Matthews type meat and only buy outdoor reared pork.

have you not seen the video's? horrible wholesale slaughter :(
What I'm aiming at is we need to get our own house in order before we start pointing fingers. I do eat meat and wish that I didn't have too :(

I have seen videos like that but don't want to watch any more. I agree we need to get our house in order but that doesn't make the terrible unnecessary suffering in Asia OK. Personally, I only buy high-welfare meat and would like to stop altogether. I haven't eaten lamb for years. There are huge sheep farms in Kent and I drive through a couple on the way home from college - as well as seeing the ones I helped to birth at college and it upsets me. I see them gamboling around in the fields know that very shortly, they will be killed - hopefully quickly and painlessly with no stress.
