I am so pleased that they have him on the drip , which I think they should have done mid week and hopefully they will get him in the animal hospital quickly cos he needs special care, poor lil boy.

Sending lots of love and good vibes to Ollie and you and Tyler

If he hasn't eaten much since Mon, he wont have enough in his system to poo, and I wouldn't keep using LActulose as it wont do any good if he doesn't have enough to produce anything. He needs proactive feeding and I hope the vet does something today, if not, I would see another vet.

Thanks gill. He looks so poorly. I thought the lactulose would have helped . I assume the vet will keep him in to feed him and give him the enemina. Not sure how it works. Tyler not hissing at ollie now but she dies seem stressed. Icould notconcentrate at work today. Just hope vet does something proactive

Ollie has eaten a small amount of dry food but that all he will eat and don't think dry food will be hood for him . He still has not done a poo and that's been since Monday night. He has been getting the lactulose since Thursday night and still no poo. Back to vets tomoro morning if no improvement overnight .

So worried . Now Tyler is not eating. Not sure if it's cause ollie not well

Hoping Ollie picks up really soon, Zoe.  Definitely try Liquivite - and not ideal, but some cats when they won't eat are a sucker for natural yoghurt. Not ideal, but eating anything at this point is an improvement just to get his stomach stimulated again.

I really would push for the vets to be doing something soon. Have you tried syringe feeding him? A bit of food is better than nothing, but not ideal, anything more than a 15% reduction in food can send the liver into overdrive, which is risking HL. Did they not give you anything like a/d or Liquivite?

I agree with Desley, the vet must be made to get proactive here cos she could be damaging Oliie by not doing anything

Ollie took a little dried food last night late on and this morning and some water. Still no poo though. Not sure if him just eating a little is enough. He won't eat any wet food at all

is there not something that can be added to water to provide a minimum of nutrients and minerals?

Was it bile?

If he ate monday night its 3 days now, when simon went on strike i was told 3 days is concerning but by day 5 its feeding tube time, i opted for fluids on day 3 to boost him for the weekend and he then started nibbling as a tube for him was really last resort having seen him caged on IV, was very unhappy and prob would have needed light sedation for a tube  :(

Zoe, i would be pushing for him to start tomorrow if still no improvement by the morning, crucial something starts going in

He needs to be on drip cos long term not eating very bad for the liver and a week far too long without food and liquid with his epileptic meds.

Vibes needed for Ollie - They worked
« Reply #1 on: April 08, 2010, 20:07:23 PM »
Not been on for a few days but my we Ollie has been poorly

He has not eaten since Monday night and because he has to take his epilepsy medicine he has been quite spaced out.

Tried loads to try and get my usually hungry boy to eat but nothing working.

Took him to see the green people and they have tested his kidneys which seem ok and he has antibiotics.

If he does not eat by saturday i have to take him in to vet as they will need to feed him. Drip i guess.

Want my we boy better, He was very sick during day today also

sending u hugs and vibes baby to get well soon.

Zoe
