Title: HELLO
Post by: bonnielass on August 11, 2008, 20:42:42 PM
Hello everyone, ive was told about this site by Sam (fussyfurball ) and altho the subject of my joining is sad i hope to make many friends with whom i can chat about my beloved cats and theirs, friends i can laugh with and friends i can cry with (like Sam ) and maybe once my pain has gone i could help out with some of the problems that we all experience with  our quest to help all furballs everywhere.

I'd like to take this opportunity of officially welcoming you the nicest, friendliest and most helpful cat forum on the web (oh and did I mention the moderators are a pretty good bunch as well  ;) ).

It's great to have you on board and in time, when you feel up to it, we would love to hear all about all your furries (feline and canine) and of course we'd love to see pics.

All the best

what a lovely place to be, everyone has made me so welcome, and no im not scottish, im a geordie by birth, bonnielass is what my dad(who was a yorkshire man ) used to call me, altho its many years since i left there to come down south.i now live in kirkby in ashfield, notts with my family, Raps is my collie (sister to the one i lost 4 weeks ago ) then there is Snugglepuss( snuggs ) who is Wizzy,s mum, Scamps (Wizzy,s sister )Barney Rubble, Henry,Cheeky and last but by no means least Cally my little tabby oriental,, and up until last sat there was also Ninja, who as you know has joined my others at the bridge, hes now running with Meg (raps sister ) Wizzy??? ,Bonnie , Tigger, and Pixie (meg/raps mum ),all these members of my family have gone to the bridge in the last 2 years,i keep saying no more as it breaks my heart when i loose one but  somehow i cant say no, altho loosing 3 in 13 weeks has really knocked me this time, but somehow we manage to soldier on and i have to be strong for the others as i know its affected them as well especially Raps  . well thats me and my family

You'll really enjoy it here  ;D ;D ;D

Yay - another Geordie - I knew it!  Dancing banana time I think!  :yayyy: :yayyy: :yayyy:

It's very hard when you lose beloved companions, and when you lose them close together it's as if you're being battered beyond belief.   The last time we lost our family dog, we said we couldn't do it again and wouldn't have another.  Two years later and we just couldn't contemplate carrying on without another to share our lives, and that's how we got Tess.   Your little family sounds fantastic.   Have you any pics?  ;D

Yes in deed another geordie, :thanks: its a wonderful place to be and its knowing that theres other people like me.(my neighbours think im batty) who look upon their furballs as family and not just pets, and altho i say no more i know there will be as i cant refuse them.i have just taken a load of photos of my family so will post  soon                                                                                                                              Stuart i sympathise with you    :hug:its really hard i know and Hamish looks such a lovely furball but as you say the support you get here is fantastic,i know its really helping me

No-one minds a jot on here if you're batty - most of us are, I reckon!   :evillaugh:  That's the great thing about Purrs - you can natter away about your puds and dogs and rats or reptiles - whatever it is you have, and there's always someone to chunter with who is interested or has advice to share or funny stories to tell, and the support network on here is really amazing, as has been said.

Ahhhh.  Sad indeed.  Everytime we have lost one of our "babies" we say never again.  But life is not the same without our furry family around us.

Hiya Bonnielass, and welcome to Purrs, as others have already said, its a shame you found us in such sad circumstances, but the support on here is fantastic.  When my boy was diagnosed with kidney issues earlier in the  year, everyone was so brilliant in reasurring and giving advice, there are so many knowledgeable peeps on here  :)

This is a fab forum, everyone is lovely and its great to natter away with like minded nutters folks  :evillaugh:

My little oriental is a complete and utter terror, youve heard of the Andrex pup, well i have the Andrex cat, she can shred a loo roll in seconds, about 2 million pieces the same goes for a kitchen roll,i came home from work the other day and the loo roll was all round the bathroom, the landing down the stairs where it met with the kitchen roll :) dont you dare laugh, it took ages to clear up ,yesterday i bought an indoor fig tree, about 6' high, she thinks its just for her to play with and climb up  cat,i could write a book about her antics, and yes im at kirkby in ashfield so if your ever out this way give me a shout, you would be very welcome, come and meet the gang

my little oriental is called Cally(calico ) amongst other things, she is a tabby with a wonderful spotted tummy, and she loves nothing better then to be picked up and cradled in my arms like a baby, especially when she has been :naughty:then she looks at you with those big green eyes as if to say :innocent:,at feeding times if im not quick enough she will take the satchet out of the box and open it for herself, so i now have to hide the cat food

Got three of them already.  Smartie has just run from one end of the house to the other at breakneck speed, crashed into the settee, jumped from settee to settee then decided to sit on my shoulder!  She is perched there at the minute - its a bit difficult for me to see the laptop but heyho!

The other two are very quiet at the minute (Summer cause she's poorly) Skye is upstairs probably on our bed!  She woke me up this morning biting my nose so I got up and came downsairs to feed her.  Did she follow me, no - went back up and she was fast asleep in the middle of the bed.  Cheeky little critter!

Took her to the vet on Saturday becuase she had started to cough on Friday.  Vet thinks its cat flu or asthma.  She's on antibiotics at the minute and seems to be improving a little.  Back to the vet later this week me thinks to get her checked out again.  She's still eating, drinking and using the litter tray but I am really worried about her.  The others are not showing any signs of being ill but worried about them too!   Thanks for

Poor you         i know what its like ,i had a cat Wizzy who had asthma, he was 7 weeks old when he had to go to the vets, he was there for 5 days(swallowed some dried grass and cut all his throat) he was on a drip and while he was there he caught cat flu,but he came through and  soon learnt that if he got stressed then he would start to wheeze or if he was cold, the vet gave me some  tablets for him which i used to get whenever i needed them  after that he was fine,so if it turns out to be asthma please dont worry,im sending lots of good vibes her way and a another hug for you both
