Michelle has your friend put up a couple of posters in the area just in case there is an owner walking the streets looking for their furbabe.

Yes the RSPCA gave her some posters to put up and she is going to put a notice in the local Sweetshop.

Have you suggested to your friend that she informs Sue at MyMoggy, Michelle?  Would definitely be worth doing...

Wait for it ...................Just spoken to the vets where the cat was taken and surprise surprise the RSPCA weren't prepared to pay the bill and authorized PTS !!
Lucky though the vets in question deal with a few Charity's and Animates (sp) will pay for bill so cat was signed over to them.

Got some more info on cat

MALE aged 2-3yrs
Neutered
Not Micro chipped

In some parts of the country  the RSPCA just take the cat to the vets and if it is more than £50 it is up to the vet to decide what they will do. In that way the RSPCA have not authorized PTS. I could say a lot more on this however, I have better keep my gob shut. If I were not Cats Protection I would write an essay. At least our local RSPCA allow us to have all the FIV + cats so that is a step in the right direction. They also asked if we would take on a RTA when they couldn't so again all credit for asking and yes we did take it on.

Thats what happened with my Kyle.  He was taken in as a stray and RSPCA took him to vets and said do what you can for £50.  The vets did a £300 operation to remove his ear tips at their own expense and then as my sister was a vet nurse there at the time talked me into rehoming him.  He was never returned to the RSPCA although sadly after 6 months he developed ear cancer and as it was too advanced I had no choice but let him be pts.  I am so glad he never went back to RSPCA and although he only had 6 months with me he was dearly loved and never wanted for anything.

6 months he developed ear cancer

That is so sad, we have taken in loads of cats  over the years who needed surgery on their ears, usually white cats but sometime cats with just white ears. Up to now all have gone on to lead full lives after the op. I expect in Kyle's case it was already very advanced.

Update on this cat -
Just spoken to vets

He was un-neutered so has been done!
Not chipped
FIV negative (thank God)
Nasty Pelvis fracture but has been operated on.

Lovely sweet cat and will be moved to Charity tomorrow.

Got to be honest, the fact that he was neutered, not chipped and no-one has come forward for him (posters up everywhere)  i feel it is best that he is rehomed with new owners !

Woo Hoo so pleased this little lad is doing OK ...... once again an unneutered tom involved in an RTA! Grrrrrr.

At least now he has been done and with any luck will soon have a forever home all of his own.

Yes he's with us (Anim-mates) - small charity in SE London and NW Kent - he's a lucky boyand i believe Teresa has named him John - but he will be on the website soon (www.anim-mates.org.uk).  Very lucky that the vets they took him to signed him over to us.  Hopefully he'll get his new forever home soon!
Second RTA in a week, Perry (who's on the website) is another one - so sad.

Have animates got a page on CC? If not tell them they can have a free place and CC will even give em a volunteer to help em put the info on.

Didnt know you were Anim-mates Denise !!!

I spoke to Terry at Foxgroves about this cat on Tuesday. (nice fella had a long chat)
I have posted "John" as found on all websites and registered him with Vets in the Blackheath area.

Have been fostering for Anim-Mates for nearly a year now.  Time goes so quickly.

Terry is a lovely bloke - totally committed to his animals.

I love the fostering -  has opened up a whole new life for me!

There don't have a page as far as I can see ... they are listed in the adoption pages but don't have a page on CC.  http://www.catchat.org/adoption/kent.html
