Title: Tabby FIV Sloppy stool still help please
Post by: carole1b on November 02, 2007, 13:05:36 PM
Tabby still has soft stools and not gained a lot of weight in the last 2 weeks aince hes been on anitbiotica nad steroids.
I have just rang the vet who has said try Pro-Fibre for Dogs and Cats for a week its like a powder you mix with his food however he is on a tea spoon of Protenix already each day and its made no difference. Is it worth me trying this product as well, is there an alternative you know of he can take long term to build his weight. Someone mentioned Tree Barks he has had this before but hes not keen on it mixed in with his food I need to build him up and stop the poos being so sloppy help please

I've used Slippery Elm Bark before with Tiggy, I used to mix it in a little Beef sandwich paste or Tuna brine 'juice' (make sure there's no onions in the paste though) and she was none the wiser.

Keep us posted on how he's doing

Where can you buy Pro-fibre?  Our FIV cat has this problem too.

Personally I would try "RC sensitivity" food first -
Then I would use Pro - Kolin or actually use the 2 together
