Title: RTA A41, Upton, Chester - Tabby Cat
Post by: BazandGem on May 13, 2010, 12:52:09 PM
I spotted a dead brown tabby cat on the grass in the central reservation opposite the Wayside Vets in Chester this morning. I've been in touch with the vets, who open at 4pm, and the council streetscene team. If the cat wasn't wearing a collar with ID (I couldn't stop to check as I was driving to work), they will take the cat to the vet to check for a microchip, so hopefully the owners can be contacted and informed.

It's a fairly busy road so I think it would have been fairly instant  :( Guess it was running across to/from the houses on the Upton side of the road.

RIP little cat.

I rang the vet when I got home last night to find out if they'd been able to find a chip, but the cat hadn't been taken in to them. So this morning I checked back with the Streetscene people at the council, who had hunted "high and low" for the cat but couldn't find it anywhere. Hopefully the owner or a neighbour saw it and took it back to its home.
