its lovely isn't it, I got it because I was trying to understand genetics and found genetics for cat breeders a bit heavy going

Yes its great - I think The Book of the Cat might be the very first cat book I ever bought if I remember rightly.  ;D

Yes I've got that book - had it for more years than I care to remember and its been well thumbed. I think its an excellent book, yes things have moved on a bit, but your basic cat physiology and stuff is still the same, so its a book worth having for sure. Its written by a commonsense vet and he also used to breed I think.

Dawn, I've never heard that word being used as reference to anything to do with bits.............. LOL!

Mark and I are both from London originally but he has no idea what I'm talking about, maybe it is as specific as one street in west london!

Mangus  :evillaugh:
DO NOT BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER ANIMALS DIE

I believe I am not interested to know whether Vivisection produces results that are profitable to the human race or doesn't. To know that the results are profitable to the race would not remove my hostility to it.  Mark Twain

I have had it for years and have to say I used it more when I was doing my Animal Science HND for that rather than as a reference book for my actual cats.    Don't think its come off the shelves for about 5 years now though.

I've got the two vn training books even in there things have come on a bit, I only read them to understand things better, I'd never try and diagnose anything

finished the new vicky halls yesterday - she has catchat in the list of useful websites at the back, can't believe her cats name!

I noticed it was published in 1994 and I am sure a lot of things have moved on, CRF treatment and pain relief are two things that come to mind.

I am wary of self-help books when there are professionals to deal with things.

I was given this on Friday. I haven't looked at it yet but just wondered if it's any good?
