Well, I'm extremely shocked by the demise of our beloved catchat, truly the best, most informative, compassionate and genuine forum I have come across in my many years wasted spent on the net. I'm beyond shocked, and scared of the withdrawal of this fantastic resource and wonderful community. Thanks to Tan and her chap for this place obviously, I do hope you have an excess of bandwidth and a cheap host, what with all those ex-pat-catchatters and uploading of photos.
I think we all need a group hug ( and being Northern, I'm not usually one for instigating such personal space invasion activity, however, I've had a whisky to lessen the shock of catchat going offline ).

It still hasn't sunk in properly. I just went to look at the emails from CC automatically and there no new ones? :'( :'( :'(
I sooo hope they get the site up again soon in new year. This is ok but nothin can beat cc!!

I'm still in shock like everyone else.? It happened so quickly - one minute it's there and the next you have the rug pulled from under your feet, so to speak.? Hopefully they will be able to get it up and running again in the new year.

It is so sad to see the end of something we all loved so much, but its lovely that we've all pulled together in a time of crisis and are still together. Tan&hubby have done a brill job on this site, its friendly and easy to use, and I am enjoying our stay here!

A few mins ago I went down stairs to make a coffee, came back in here and clicked on, yes you have guessed it, Cat Chat. I am sure it will sink in soon. Although I think this site is wonderful, I personally think the best of all the rest.

BIG HUGS to all of the CC gang and also to any new members joining this lovely new forum.
I can't tell you how upset i was when i saw CC was closing down, it sounds quite pathetic but i can honestly you are all my kitty lifeline!
So many of you have helped so much when i have been worrying over silly things that novice cat owners worry over!
I am proud to call you my Cat Chat friends and long may it continue

Just had to come back here for some more hugs cos just was looking at CC forum and it is there just as we left it and its like looking at Rainbow Bridge and I do hope we are gonna meet up there again and they do not change the software cos thats what helped to make it so good.

I still can't believe it. I'm very much hardened to net happenings after yeaaars online, but the catchat community is something very special. I didn't see the forum was down yesterday before I got the email from Sam and I was all ' oh no, oh no ' when I opened my email. My hubbie ( also a hardened nerd ) totally understood why I was so upset and kept saying ' it'll come back, it'll come back '. I so hope so, tho this place is great of course, I do think the simple format of catchat encouraged those who wouldn't normally post on a forum to request help to do so, the style of it was so beautifully simple. I do hope people can find the same help here that they found on catchat, and I do hope it comes back in the new year. I would be completely willing to pay a subscription, the bandwidth costs of the catchat forum must have been extortionate.

It's because of people like you J that I created the CC list and mailed everyone I could. I know how upset I would have been if CC had closed down without me knowing and I had no way to finding everyone again. Like you say CC was special. I DO NOT go on forums usually, but as soon as I discovered CC I couldn't stay away. Not only was it informative but it was also friendly. And I could see the same names popping up over and over again which led me to believe there were regular uses rather than just weirdos popping up once and disappearing.
Fingers crossed CC returns (yes I'd also be happy to pay) but in the meantime I think we have found a very nice little resting place on here with Tan :)

I agree wholeheartedly with J and Fussy Furball. It's amazing how affected I've been by the closure of CC and apparently the same is true for everyone else.
Really do hope it comes back in the new year but meanwhile I'll add my thanks to Tan and Chappie for this refuge.

I am soo glad that others feel the same - I was out last night, and was telling my friend - luckily she didn't look at me like I was bonkers, she understood why I was upset, but I Was nearly in tears telling her, and though I was bonkers!! Two people passed comment on me being glum yesterday at work, but coudn't say why - and to top it off Hotmail kept acting up, so couldn't check everything till today!! This site is good, but there are a few things that were unique to cC that no other forum has got, and I have tried a few!!! I am glad the majority of us are still together though, there are a couple of people that I am not sure will be on who we will all miss though. Hugs to everyone!!!!

yes I just was checking something out and saw at least one person who is not here and will miss.
I understand how you both feel cos so do I and my emails went down on CCs last day and then i got em all coming thro when it had closed and one arrived late today.
The site was so easy to use and I do hope whaen they bring it back they use the same software.

When I get a min I will send a group email to everyone I got in my yahoo addy book and also all on Sams wonderful list and if there anyone else I can think of but the link to here is on the CC? forum page.

I haven't found a link to here on CatChat yetttt but I'm sure the Colonel (Sir!) and his crew are working on it.

Hi everyone. Sorry to barge in on the thread but i'm just trying to retrain myself from the Catchat Forum !! I was soooo sad when Catchat went off-line. I have loved being part of an on-line cat community, but hopefully we can all stick together until Catchat is up and running... Will try to get some picks on but no luck so far - I'll have to get my OH to help me.. Speak to you all soon x

The CC forum has been altered and does give this and the Hovel as alternate places. I know the one person from CC who I will really miss wont be joining, I do hope she changes her mind though.

Continuing the group (((hugs))) to everyone from CC and all new peeps who find us too. I was so upset when I thought I would lose touch with everyone on here, as the sense of community is really great. I only go on one other forum for a car club, and its just nothing in comparison to what we have here. So, a bit :thanks: to Tan and Hubby for letting the forum continue in its new skin, and look forward to chatting with you guys for many a time to come ;D

:welcome: Catgirl There are lots of CC members on here and they are all offering the same helpful, friendly advice and wittering about our cats! Most of the action goes on in General just like in CC, check out the auction thread too - we are trying to raise lost of money for an independant cat rescue in Brighton.

Oh boy. Just got back from 3 weeks holiday to find the world is not as I left it. Can't believe there's no Cat Chat forum. I'm still in a state of shock so really need that hug. I'm a total dumbo when it comes to techno stuff so I hope I can find my way around this site. I'll have to take it slowly.

It's OK, it's OK... This is just like CC with a lot of the old friendly faces and some new friendly ones too! The site is really easy to find your way around too, give it an hour or so and you'll be whizzing around and doing stuff like this...

Bet it was a shock. It was awful that Weds eve. I was really upset when CC said they were closing. We had to get this up quick so the auction for Ron was still ok to do.
Can't wait till our CC home is back but till then we have found each other ere and on the other forums like the Hovel and Katnip and Feline friends.
It very simular to CC with the catagory headings but extra for Fundrasing and non cat chat bit.
Shout if ya need help with anything.

Hi Everyone, i'm just floating around again trying to pick things up. Missing CC so much....hopefully it'll be back soon but i do feel at home here seeing familiar names on the board ! If anyone remembers it was me with Amber who went missing in April 05 and I adopted the feisty Snowball from Teresa at Paws inn last November. Teresa is still doing well as far as I know.

Hello everyone! What a huge relief that this site's been set up - thanks so much! I nearly cried when I found I couldn't use the CC forum!
I'd just tried to jump onto CC to say I've just found out I'm 5 weeks pregnant! Yay!! So glad I've been able to come here and tell you all instead.
Not sure Jack and Ted are going to be very chuffed at having a baby around - although my OH has already agreed to them letting them nap in our bedroom once baby arrives (they're not usually allowed in there at all!) so maybe they'll think life is better!
Hope all you cat chatters are ok, am enjoying the *group hug*.
