Title: Broken rib!
Post by: quirkyboots on December 29, 2012, 22:40:50 PM
My cat has come home with what seems like a broken rib! The skin is not pierced and when touched it doesn't hurt him but it is protruding out of his body!
Has anyone else had this!
The out of hours is miles away but they said cause he in no pain take him to normal vet hours tmz morn!
He's an old boy at 15 years too x

Someone on Purrs took a cat from someone else like this but was an old injury.

I think you should get it checked out by the vets to be on the safe side and listen to any advise given.

Hope he is OK

Hopefully its an old injury and if he is still lively and having no breathing probs it doesnt sound like he has punctured a lung.

If it's new, definitely get it checked out by the vet  :scared:

We took in a stray " Mr Robbie the Stretch " mid january this year, and when He finally
gained the trust from me ( mainly because I was feeding him  :evillaugh: ) I discovered
while petting him that he had a strange protruding lump on his rib cage  vet
checked him over and concluded that it was an old injury that has healed, feels weird
petting him as it sticks out a fair bit, feels like the tip of a finger  :-:
but it too doesn't bother him  :)

best to get him checked out anyway ;)
