Title: CAPONE (Buster) has arrived (4 Jan 09)
Post by: tigerbaby on January 03, 2009, 21:12:27 PM
It feels strange & scary, but also exciting. I can't believe I have adopted a cat I've never met! That is just crazy
It took me a while to get used to the idea, but thanks to JackSpratt my mind was put at ease (several times). It is also upsetting as it is just starting to sink in that Jameson is never coming back, and I wonder how any cat will ever be as perfect as him? But as so many of you have said, all cats are unique with different personalities and characters. I think this is the right thing to do. Especially because Buster is currently recovering from a RTA and we never got the chance to help Jameson recover from his  :(
I really feel that us & Buster can help each other to heal..... we have things in common, and recently been through trauma.

Robin is currently making space for the tray in the hallway, and I am about to take out Jamesons food bowls for Buster to have. I think Jameson would have wanted this too. I will wash J's blanket and give it to Buster. We are most likely to change his name though, to make it more personal for us.

So I will give you the full update tomorrow, as & when our new family member has arrived and settled in a little...... help...  :scared:

Good luck for tomorrow but relax you will make fantastic adoptive parents - Buster is so lucky.

Try not to compare as every cat is different as you know, it is likely to take Buster a few days to settle in.

Good luck.

Good luck for tomorrow     I'm sure as soon as Buster arrives all your fears and worries will vanish ... Buster sounds like a lovely boy and he is lucky to be getting such loving "parents" as you and Robin - and you are lucky to be able to help a new furbabe recover from his trauma xxxx

I have to admit I am weirdly excited and nervous for you. I know how big a step this is for you and how many mixed emotions you must have but I just know this is going to be the start of a wonderful new chapter in your furball story  :shy:

Good luck for tomorrow and I shall be checking in every two minutes to see if he has arrived  :)

Jameson will never lose his place in your heart. It doesn't matter how many cats you care for; they're all so utterly unique that they'll each enchant you in their own individual way.

Buster is lucky to be going to two such caring people and I think if you felt a connection from just looking at his picture and details that will increase as soon as you meet. Good luck tomorrow.

Good luck!  I'm sure it will be love at first sight for both parties!  ;D

It's natural to worry about not loving him as much as Jameson or that you feel you are replacing Jameson.  I felt a bit like that with Mosi when I got him.  I wanted him and loved him, but at the back of my mind was the fact that he wouldn't be here if Magpie was still alive, so did loving him mean I was glad Magpie wasn't here.  But he wormed his way into my heart like they do, and I still love my little fluffy Magpie as much as I ever did.

Am so excited for you  :wish: It might take him a while to settle in as I'd imagine the journey will be pretty stressful for him but once he settles down you'll see his true personality and I'm sure you'll fall in love with him, doesn't mean you'll ever love Jameson any less though

i think this is wonderful to do and that jameson will be watching over the proceedings with a paw in your hearts. he will be so proud that you are helping another cat hurt in an rta.

i am sure that buster will settle in great after he recovers from the journey and that all 3 of you will be so happy

Helena I am sure you and Buster will be great for each other, just like me and Bonnie were pushed together when Smudge was missing.   I reckon Smudge and Jameson were pushing them towards us to help the pain ease.

Looking forward to hearing great things and seeing some pics.

Helena hunny

I really believe this is meant to be, infact i will go alittle further and say that i believe Jameson has sent Buster to you !
You see this all just fits nicely into place, as you say Jameson didnt have a chance to recover from his RTA there was nothing you could have done but Buster has that chance.

Buster will never replace Jameson and You wouldnt want him to either but he will help you to heal and love again.
I have felt strange each time i have got another cat after lossing one, always feeling that i will never love another cat the same way....but you do !

After lossing Star (my 1st Bridge baby) we got Marmite 2mths later, I remember feeling quiet strange towards her at first....almost resenting her bacause she was only here because Star had died but that feeling didnt last long

Sending You and Robin lots of love.............. xxxxx

He will never replace your beloved Jameson, but 'Buster' will be himself and you'll love him for that

Today must be so exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time.  Let us know how 'Buster' gets on.

I am so pleased for you two and of course Buster... He will have a lovely home and it will be so nice to have a cat around the place. I have had cats since I was born (they were in the house before me) so have had to say goodbye to a few furry loved ones and although I worry everytime I bring a new cat into the house that it will feel strange, they are all so different that it never feels at all strange. I know you will be pleased to have him as part of the family.
I hope he settles nice and easily, although he may feel a little bewildered after all the travelling, bt I expect he will be sooo pleased to be safe and sound in a lovely, forever home.

Good luck and hope all goes well

I'm so pleased for you, and look forward to hearing about Buster and how he's settling in, and of course, a piccie or 2! I know my Lily, Tink and Sammy have helped me so much with my lovely Lucia's passing. There's no way they could replace her in a million years, but they let me love and laugh kitties again.

 :thanks: :thanks:

I had a call 20 min ago from Sandplangham - they will get here for about 4pm so will update you as soon as I get back on the laptop!

It feels very emotional and weird putting Jamesons bowls, and bowl mat out again... I've already had a fair amount of cry's and feel totally emotional. Still I look forward to holding Buster and welcoming him in to his new forever home!

Oh, and he is very good - apparently have been sleeping most of the way  :Luv:

HELLO!!! I AM BACK!!!

Give me a couple of minutes and I will give you the full update with pics AND videos!

Can I just say that ''Kitty'' (Buster is SO not a suitable name for him) is AMAZING, and it took him a whole 2 minutes to settle in! He is sooooo curious and has explored every corner of the house - eaten his dinner, poo'd and wee'd, purring softly and follows us around everywhere. He is very much like Jameson, great personality and character - he is very lively considering he has been in a RTA with smashed pelvis, been in surgery to fix this, had his tail removed (what a cute stump!) and been castrated. He is SO tired now, but refuses to close his eyes incase he misses something, or incase he wakes up in a new place.

Thanks to all involved in this - I will thank you all properly and personally - just uploading the first pics and will be with you REAL soon. ''Kitty'' is lying next to me, all snuggled up and warm.

I am also excited, and it is amazing that YOU ARE ALL EXCITED TOO! I read all the posts and giggled!

OH AND HIS NAME WON'T BE 'KITTY'. (we are just getting to know him - we call him Husky the Wolf right now as he looks like one!

Ok... first off, here is 'Busters' history that I got through JackSpratt (who got it from Nicky - the vet nurse)

''Buster was found at the side of the road. Wet, cold and unable to move.He was picked up by a member of the public who called the RSPCA. The RSPCA told her to take the cat to the vet where they said they would put him to sleep.

I refused and told the RSPCA that I would try and find an owner, therefore I would take over his care. We gave him emergency treatment straight away for the shock and pain. The day after once stabilised we x-rayed to find his pelvis was shattered and at this point he was incontinent. We couldn't pin him due to the damage done. He stayed at the vet for a week, from there he was caged in a foster home and came to the vets twice a week for check ups. Once he was strong enough we took off his tail as it was dead and he kept urinating and standing on it. We castrated him at the same time. Since then he has gone from strength to strength."

And here is the update!

Sally & Paul (sandplangham) arrived at ours at 4pm with a carrier containing a gorgeous white & tabby boy. I was very concerned that he would be traumatised, confused and bewildered after the journey, so had put all his stuff in a special corner for him (bed, food, tray etc). Opened the carrier and said hello. First thing we saw was 2 curious, big eyes, looking around. He instantly crept out of the carrier and started exploring. When he went under the bed (& stayed) we figured we should go to the next room and give him some space and time to get used to everything.

I brought a bowl of Whiskas for him, and he hurried (on wobbly legs) to the bowl and scoffed it all. I left him to eat, and it wasn't long before we saw 2 eyes peeking at us in the lounge doorway. Apparently he was not interested in being alone in a boring room with no hoomans with hearts to capture! He sniffed around and then climbed up on the sofa, to join us - right in between us all. He is SUCH a sociable cat. Robin got Jamesons grooming brush out (as by this point there was white cat hair all over our sofa), and 'Buster' loved it. He started purring softly, lied down and folded his paws under his chest - looking very comfy.

As Sally & Paul were leaving, he looked up and looked a bit confused yet satisfied, as if he was saying : ''Thanks for the trip but I've decided to stay at this stop''.

Since then he has been the most affectionate & loving cat, purring and headbutting us every few minutes, while exploring new corners of the house. He has finally settled (next to me) on the bed, although he keep waking up to little noises and it's as if he doesn't want to close his eyes and fall asleep in case he happens to have been moved to yet another place. But he doesn't need to worry, as this is his final stop, where he will be safe, warm and loved forever.

More updates to follow, as we get to know him better etc. We don't have his final name yet - we need to get to know him better first.

Thanks to everyone involved, in every way - this would not have been possible without you guys.  And last but not least, I know Jameson is the brain behind all this, so he will get a very special thank you from all of us.

Here are the pictures I have, and a few videos to show how relaxed and inquisitive he is.

I wonder if its something to do with having no tail?

Giz was a chunky-looking cat once he had no tail.  Before that he was what my Nanna would have called "Cheese-grater-ribs"!! or "Skinny gutted herring"

Hello all,

Thanks for all your replies, I am glad this is just as exciting for you guys as it is for us!

Well, last night I figured to turn the laptop off and join Robin on the sofa for a movie. 'Buster' also thought that was a great idea, so the 3 of us were chilling out together - 'Buster' sleeping on his back and chirping in his sleep - very relaxed. When we were getting ready for bed, 'Buster' found a cosy den under the laundry rack, so I put his towel in the basket underneath and he loved it, and stayed there. I woke up several times thru the night; sometimes he was sleeping by our feet, the other times he was sleeping in the laundry basket. He loves pawing around on/next to us and walking on our heads while we sleep. This morning I gave him a pouch of Whiskas for breakfast, he then went to do the biggest poo known to man!   There was a bit of poo hanging off his bum so had to wipe it off - is this normal? I didn't want him to get into bed with us with that! Looked like it was a solid-but-slightly-runny poo.

We have had a little play session too, don't think he is used to being played with and gets over-excited and doesn't know what to do with himself! Because of his injury he has wobbly backlegs, and he seems to find it frustrating that he can't charge around like he wants to - yet, he loves chasing things and whacking things with his paws. I take it easy with him though - he loves jumping and balancing on things, but the truth is, he is still wobbling around and his balance is not the best, so a bit of a worry. There is nothing wrong with his confidence though - although certain sounds make him jump & run off, and last night he seemed to see imaginary things in the air that scared him.
He is a very playful boy - loves rolling around on the floor and have already 'bitten' my hand (in play) in exactly the same way as Jameson (& probably a lot of other cats) did; keeps hold of my hand and chews on it.  I just keep my hand there and let him do it - but it doesn't hurt.

He meows softly - chirps like Jameson. Very similar, almost freaky.

Right now he is sitting by the french windows - looking out at the outdoors - I think he wants to go outside. I had a little think this morning, once he is totally healed up & back to normal, and once we have put a gate up, I want to see if it's possible in any way to cat-proof the garden. It has got to be possible - will look up the options and maybe have someone coming over to have a look too. This would probably be sometime in spring. I want to be able to let him go outside. Fingers crossed this will be possible..

Anyway, more pics to follow as we go through the day, but here's a couple of him last night, one on our bed and one of him in his secret little den!
(Oh, and it snowed here last night... I think it's a sign - our husky wolf cat came last night and brought snow!).

We haven't come up with a name yet... will have a think again today but we call him Husky Cat and Polar Bear. Keep the ideas coming ;)

As it happens, both me and Robin are sick today, but somehow it doesn't matter...  :Luv:

He does look like a little Husky.  :)

Sounds to me like he's thoroughly enjoying his new surroundings, but sometimes just finds it all a bit exciting and overwhelming, hence trying everything out once, twice - three times.  "I sleeps here - I sleeps there.   No, I sleeps here."

As he's a bit wobbley still, he's probably forgetting that he had a major accident and didn't feel so good, cos now - he feels grrrrreat!  Just that his back legs haven't quite caught up with how grrrreat he's feeling yet  ;D  I bet he just can't get over his luck in having a wonderful new home like he's got now with you both.
Title: Re: Buster has arrived (4 Jan 09)
Post by: Bryony84 on January 05, 2009, 13:34:25 PM
Sounds like he is settling in very well!

As far as his back legs are concerned, using Casper as an example, they do tend to forget sometimes that they need to think a little more about getting around and they can't move as quickly or jump as easily as before. Casper started off being very very angry at the whole thing, biting anyone who tried to help and growling like a very angry feral. Now he has calmed down a bit and realised that if things aren't going well, the best thing to do is sit down or fall over gracefully!

'Buster' has been through a nasty ordeal but he seems to be doing extremely well! As for the poo on his bum, thats probably just another thing to do with getting used to things after the accident, it might not be quite as easy to clean as before but cats are very clever and he'll figure it out. Casper was peeing with absolutely no aim at all when he first came back from the vets but gets it in the box every time these days!

Was thinking about his name and just googled the Swedish translation of Husky and it's 'skalliknande' - maybe not  :evillaugh:  Just because he was looking out the patio doors doesn't mean he wants to go outside although if you can catproof your garden that would be fantastic for him, I think he's just happy to be in a safe loving home and that's the main thing  Jameson would be very proud  :)

with the catproofing I think most situations can be dealt we did have to cut down quite a lot of stuff in our garden but once that was done the proofing part was easy

Was it expensive?

The only problem with our garden is that we live on lower ground floor, and garden is streetlevel - so when you stand in the garden our kitchen roof is eye-level which makes it easy for a cat to climb over - unless we can cat proof the actual roof. I will work on this!

The only name we have liked so far is Eskimo. We will see though!

we did it ourselves it cost about £100 for a 60 ft by 40 ft garden, we had to catproof the conservatory and garden shed roof and even the wheelie bins just in case!!   doing the roof involved attaching the netting to the guttering - the worst thing about it was cutting down our lovely hawthorne tree that we planted when we moved in

Was thinking about his name and just googled the Swedish translation of Husky and it's 'skalliknande' - maybe not  :evillaugh:

Sounds to me like he's thoroughly enjoying his new surroundings, but sometimes just finds it all a bit exciting and overwhelming, hence trying everything out once, twice - three times.  "I sleeps here - I sleeps there.   No, I sleeps here."

As he's a bit wobbley still, he's probably forgetting that he had a major accident and didn't feel so good, cos now - he feels grrrrreat!  Just that his back legs haven't quite caught up with how grrrreat he's feeling yet  ;D
Yes exactly - he is very excited and wants to do everything at once! Bless..

Good point - yes that is probably why - he gets a bit annoyed at his stump at times too - I think his stitches are itching a bit now.

That is a good price - our garden is smaller than that. Another problem is that our main entrance is through the garden - not sure what to do with post/parcels/postmen.

I guess first off we just have to see how he is settling as an Indoor cat. He seems fine so far, but I feel like a cruel meowmy for not allowing him outside!

I felt like that with the girls, we can't have a catflap at the moment as the only way of getting outside is the front door and its a rented flat. I let them out when its light and not raining outside, which isn't very often at the moment. They always act like they really want to get outside but when I let them, the reality is that its cold and they only stay there for about 5 mins before returning to their warm spots on top of the fishtank!

They don't really seem bothered by the fact that they can't come and go as they please and I prefer having them where I can keep an eye on them!

The Inuit language doesn't exactly trip off the tongue, does it?  More kind of grabs the tongue in a double armlock coming back on itself!  :evillaugh:

Of that little list, I like Kaya - "stay, and don't go back"  :)

Me too Sue, I repeated Kaya a few times loudly but figured it's too female. My mum thinks we should call him Cashmere (too girly though).

Nanuuk is gorgeous - but also too female sounding. We'll see though - who knows!

Keep 'em coming guys!

Ahh, but he's already nicknamed Polar Bear - and Nanuk means that apparantly. (Spelt the way I spelt it, it means "cute, kind" according to the list so still nice!) ;)

In regards to the poop, with nerve damage they cant always pinch off so you get abit left or it may be a one off. Watch out for random golden nuggets  :evillaugh: does he have any probs with weeing still?

Stitches, when are they due out, they can get itchy/tight if left in too long, magoo had this with his ears, they all dissolved bang on date apart from a few odd ones which made him mad!

I will watch out for golden nuggets  ;) I hope there won't be too many of them!

'Buster' Bugaboo Bugsy Malone (his current nickname  :shify:) is still snoozing - he has been sleeping ALL day. I hope this is normal and that he is just knackered from the BIG day yesterday, as well as all the surgery and stuff...

I gave him half pouch of Hi Life Chicken that he loved and scoffed, didn't want to give too much incase it upset his lil tum.

I thought of Lucifer, which is a mythical creature and means Bringer of Light (not the same creature as the satan Lucifer), but Robin reckoned that name would be better for a dark/black cat.

Yeah, if you look after them right they will live to around a 100 years!!!! So they are most likely to out-live you. A little update - and a question of concern:

'Buster' is doing well, he is very affectionate and follows us around everywhere. He purrs and seems happy. HOWEVER, tonight Robin turned his massage pillow thing on, and it made a slight low volume buzzing sound. It freaked 'Buster' out big time. He couldn't work out what it was, so R turned it off and put it away. Since then he's been really jumpy and on edge. He even hissed at a toy he usually loves playing with. He won't let us touch him, ducks down and moves away. It is really upsetting. R put a movie on, and they are on the sofa now, but 'Buster' is still being weird.
Maybe it's a sound he recognises from the vets? Thing is, it was not even loud, like a hair dryer - and we've had both the dishwasher and washing machine on while he's been here. I really hope he is not becoming freaked out.
I know he's had a crazy few weeks, and although he seems settled here I guess he still associates certain things with things that has happened to him. I just hope he hasn't changed and that he will relax.
I will go and check on him now.

I wouldn't worry too much, he's only been with you a very short while so it'll take his time to build up complete trust  I know when the boys first arrived silly little things would scare them as they didn't know that I would never let anything harm them.

Strange you should say about the massage pillow though, I bought a massage cushion thing for the chair yesterday (incidentally it's the best invention EVER!) and Lu was really freaked out by it today. Like you say it's just a quiet buzzing noise but he'll happily lay on the bed next to me while I'm drying my hair or eat his tea in the kitchen while the washing machine is on but he did NOT like the noise the massager was making.  I ended up turning it off for him, I'm such a pushover  :evillaugh:

Did you buy it from Lidl? R got it from there, today and wanted to use it. He got a bit annoyed about it all, but knew he had to put it away. 'Buster' seems ok now, but still a bit weird - hunching down and sniffing every corner - and is acting weird towards the sofa. Also bit jumpy.

But after all it's only the 3rd day, so I shouldn't expect miracles. I guess I just get a bit worried because I don't want a freaked out indoor cat - not sure how we can avoid certain sounds in this apartment?!

Patience. He is such a social, curious and brave boy it doesn't seem his character to get scared so easily.

I think Helen's right, Helena.  Everything is still a bit strange to him, and he's been through so much in a short space of time, that anything which is odd to him might seem a bit freaky too.  Paddy used to hate the hoover and would sneak off smartly at the very sight of it, but since he went deaf, he doesn't care and will sit and watch it whisk past his bed without so much as a twitch.  I reckon he just needs time and stability, lots of patience and care, and I reckon he's right where he'll get it.    (Could Robin use his massager in another room perhaps for now, bless him?)

I bet he's heard that sound somewhere before and had a bad experience, I would think in time though with lots of love he will settle down well, it's a big thing he's been through alot and after the excitement the other day it's probably alot to take in.  I'm sure he'll be fine once he gets his own little routine and he feels safe.

Yep, Buster probably heard that sound somewhere like the vets and that made him nervous. (Some sounds seem quite similiar to us, but to a cat I think the pitch must be massively different.)

You're right, Helena. Patience is key in having a new cat come to live with you. We all have quirks - including cats - and learning them is all part of the process. As Buster grows in trust, he's likely to become more laid back about things. (Having said that, Asteroid still runs for cover at the sight of the hoover.)

One of these to Robin:  for being so good about having to put away his massage pillow. Maybe Sues idea about using it in a different room for now is a good one?

 to both of you and Buster "Bugaboo" Bugsy Malone.

I wonder if the sound is anything like the vets clippers?  Chloe isnt very keen on electric razor noise ....  Or Kieron (my other half)'s hair clipper thingies .... Mr T is so nosy he doesnt seem to care!  He hates the Dyson, though.  I believe he thinks its going to eat his food.  If I take it toward the kitchen he gets upset ...
Hope Buster ............................  Insert name here  :naughty: is soon settled again - my guess is he will be! :)

Thanks all  :thanks:

He is back to his normal self now - purring and headbutting us. You are all right - it's a new sound to him, and will take a bit of time getting used to it.

OK - name wise, to give you a 'flavour' of the names we've come up with so far. His surname is most likely to be COYOTE. (his description - just like Jameson was Whitesox)

ROMEO
NAPOLEON
COURTNEY
ESKIMO
CAVALERA
NELSON
CHAI

I am currently looking up cartoon character names/ mythical / greek god names.... will update later.... we need a name for him!!!

I like Chai. :)

I sometimes name the cats on Blackpool C in C site, and named a tiny black kitten Chi. For some reason it sprang to mind when I looked at him!

I like Napoleon! Dear little soul- I'm so glad it's worked out so well. I'm so enjoying this thread.

It's funny how there are sounds and objects they don't like. Our boy is terrified of one particular cushion- it's fine when it's in situ but he runs a mile if we move it.  We've no idea why but he was a rescue cat so presumably it reminds him of something nasty from the past. He also hates the electric carver though he's fine with the food mixer, washing machine, etc.

But have a look at this.... how cute is he? Notice he sleeps with his tongue sticking out. He just looks so much like a Husky it's unbelievable.
He is currently fast asleep dreaming - randomly twitching in his sleep. Bless, he looks SO comfy where he is it's really hard not to go up and kiss him every 2 seconds  :Luv:

Aww, he's so cute!  :Luv:

The sound may have just been one of those noises that freaks them out.  Some noises are just like that.  My 2 can ignore a whole variety of sounds going on outside but sometimes a seeming inocuous sound freaks them out and has them running for the bed or growling.  I would let him settle in a bit more before using it near him if possible.

Regarding names - from your list I like Eskimo, Nelson and Chai  ;D

Ah bless.  I love kitties who sleep with their tongues out.  Korky nearly always has his tongue out (asleep or awake).

He does have a definite look of a husky doesn't he - I think the dark smudges on either side of his nose contribute  that.  Why not just take the easy way out and call him Husky?

Just catching up with things and I have to say Buster is gorgeous  :Luv2: He has certainly fallen on his paws coming to live with you, and he obviously knows it  ;D On the noise thing I wouldn't worry as folks have said. Dylan is pretty much bomb proof but even though I've had Hobbes since he was 12 weeks old and he's only ever lived with me in my current house he spooks at all sorts of noises. While I've had my cold and been coughing and sneezing he has regularly shot away to hide every time I do it . He hates the hoover and always hides away from it and is currently regulary spooked by the fact that since I had my new windows in and there is no curtain at the hall window he can see the stairs reflected in it at night

He he! Nope...

...... READY FOR IT?

CAPONE

We are calling him Husky Bear-Wolf Capone. But his main name is Capone. It's a name that suits him like a glove!  ;D

Oh, and does anyone have any advise about a toothless cat? He is missing his upper fang and the fang below is only half! He seems fine though and eats his dry food - so I guess he's fine. Maybe I should mix his dry food with the wet so it's easier to chew?

He had tuna today which he LOVED!  :Luv2:

my feral foster, Mabel, is missing about 7 teeth and is eating dry food fine

unless he stops eating the dry there should be no issues and as long as it *it* dry it will clean his other teeth and help keep them healthy

My too are toothless and after they were removed the vet said they could eat biscuits because their gums harden but they do prefer soft, Byron has just 2 teeth, which couldn't be removed and she occasionally has a biscuit

He has spent the morning charging around the house chasing scrunched up pieces of paper, and loves hiding behind the curtains to fight imaginary enemies - actually Jamesons fave hiding place too so it's really heartwarming to watch..  :Luv:

Owl faces are cute  :Luv: Capone sometimes gets a 'troubled' look in his eyes, he looks slightly sad or confused. And then I go up to him and give him a great big huggle and kiss. Then he goes back to normal. I guess he is still settling in. He is such a cutie.

Today I gave him a pouch of Hi Life Essentials - but it came back up immediately  It must've been too rich for him or something, although he had a pouch the other day and was fine. I did however mix it with a bit of water - maybe that was why. He doesn't seem to drink much so I tried mixing some water in last night with his Whiskas Oh So and it went down really well.

Thanks all  :thanks:

He is gorgeous - he is such a good easygoing boy. Last night R turned on another massage thingie (not the pillow - an infra red one) that made a buzzing sound, but as Capone was busy chasing foil balls he was too occupied doing other things to get scared of the noise, and when he finally noticed it he just sniffed it and then settled down when he realised it wasn't dangerous.

Here are a few more snaps... he has worked out that I give a lot of attention to my laptop, so he will climb on top of it and sit on it in order to get my attention. And he always succeeds!!!

It's amazing how well he has settled in, and how his health has improved generally. His legs are much stronger - this morning he jumped quite a high distance (floor to sofa backrest - as opposed to floor, to sofa seat) - and down again. He was sitting proudly on the back rest for ages, meowing at me to look at him, bless.  :Luv2:

Now we just need a few more good quality indoor toys to entertain him with.

We are microchipping him & taking him for injections as soon as I have some money coming in!
