"hi there i am moving down to wales in january and need to sell my cat and kitten the cat is called smudge and she is 2 years old nearly 3 she is litter trained and knows when her meal times are she is a quiet cat who loves to be stroked every now and again...
the kitten is called spliff and likes to be stroked and played with she is also litter trained and follows her mum at meal times spliff is nearly a year old in june..."
After contacting the current owner, it transpires neither of these cats is neutered/spayed or microchipped. Can anyone help? The owner has stated on the post they would like a small donation to ensure their cats go somewhere safe.
*As an aside: I don't know why the owners aren't taking their cats with them before anyone asks. ;) *

It may be worth suggesting they are spayed/neutered before rehoming, this is more likely to ensure a good home.

Dawn, I'm pretty sure they wouldn't consider it otherwise I would've mentioned it in an email. Sometimes you just get a feeling, don't you?
-
Hopefully they'll end up somewhere where the new owners will get them done but you just don't know. Why can't she take the cats with her? If she ends up with them and they are close enough to me, I can get them spayed for her and maybe get them in at our local rescue if they are not already sorted :shy:

Just reread your first post :evillaugh:

I'll email her and let her know there's an offer of help regarding neutering/spaying if they go to Wales with her. Would you try and help rehome too? (Daft question, I know but I remember you said you were taking a step back for a little while!)
-
I am taking a step back but not completely
-
OK, just didn't want you to be put under pressure to help. :) Have emailed the guy (it's a bloke that posted) letting him know he'd get help with spaying if he were to take the cats with him to Wales.
-
I hope they find a good home :)

Would the CPL not help the current owners with neutering if they knew the circumstances?
I'm probably teaching my grandmother to suck eggs as a noob here so apologies lol :shy:

How calls a kitten "spliff" ??
Thats just wrong
-
lol - I've seen some dogs suffering the after effects of said kittens name! The owners were understandably very cagey when they had to call the vet out at daft o clock in the morning! :sneaky:
seriously tho - thats not a cute mitten name! will attract the wrong peeps!

Whoop Me too ....sorry JS :evillaugh: ;)

Also unrealistic thinking they can sell their cat and kitten when people can't give them away
-
Sadly, never heard back from these people. I would think any help offered would be overlooked if a "quick fix" home were made available.
I hate the name too - poor little thing.
