It isn't uncommon for cats still with people to take on roles from other cats that have passed. I read the explanation for it, but like to think it's because they've been taught the behaviour and are carrying it on, so to speak.

Misha has taken over Buntys role

When Bunty whent missing ages ago Misha started to slot into Buntys role as the cat that followed me around all day and wanted tons of hugs so I always had an idea that if Bunty crossed the bridge before Misha did that it would happen then and it has.     Misha has really steppped into Buntys shoes and follows me around constantly and is the cat that wants the full 100% attention.   In some ways I am thankful as I don't feel so lonley with Bunty not here as me in the house with no cat following me around would really make me loosing Bunty harder.
