...or Lil Mo as he has rapidly become known!
We picked him up from Battersea on Sunday and are hoping he and Drum will become best of friends... He is very under-socialised and for a while they thought he might be semi feral but we have already had a few strokes and purrs and with some patience and kindness which he lacked at the start of his little life we think he's going to be just fine! I have been talking about him in Health and Behavior but wanted to cross post the pictures... he's just too cute not to share! :Luv:

what a cutie! what is battersea like, looks lovely on the tv

He is adorable! Looks just how I think Alfie would have at that age :Luv2:

Awww what a sweetie :Luv2: :Luv2: Well come to your new home :Luv:
Dawn , i have been to Battersea twice and both times the cattery was closed! The dog section looks great and they have loads of space out for training.
What i dont approve is they do rehome some cats with out the home check :-:

I also have been to Battersea a couple of times and cattery was closed.

Hi All
Well, it was all fine and open this weekend (obviously!)
It's very nice actually, the enclosures aren't massive but they are very full of blankets, toys and they all have climbing things in them, They are glass with small gaps for sniffing through and also all have a window facing the road for people watching but they don't have any outside access as it's on the first floor... not sure if there is another bit that does? We went to two different bits as started with cats and then went to the bit with new borns and kittens.. so there may be other bits too. I know they also have socialisation rooms. Battersea Centre itself is huge...
It's true that we didn't have a home visit, in fact we went Friday, got offered a kitten and picked him up Sunday, although we did have photos of our house and garden with us... they did check our ID for our address... not entirely foolproof by any stretch though.
It's a tough one isn't it? Needing to be thorough but also not making it so bureaucratic that people see it as easier to go to Gumtree...

I know of rescues that do a google earth look at peoples houses as a homecheck so they aren't alone, I was just interested really, I've passed it on the train loads of times but never been in!
-
It seems really nice Dawn, we saw the on site vet after he was microchipped and they went through his history with us and we had a massive pack to take away on behaviour etc... all in all it was a good experience :-)

He' so cute! :blow kiss: I'm so pleased you took the plunge, have everything crossed that he and Drum will become pals in no time and that he can help bring some fun and laughter back into your home :)
-
Little Mo's eyes look so sad but I'm sure he will pick up and have a long and happy life with you.
Well done for picking a little black 'un

He looks a bit wary of the camera - bet that will all change in a couple of months though and he'll turn into a right little poser!
-
He is absolutely gorgeous. I'm sure he will soon fit right in and settle down to a long and happy life with your family :Luv:
We didn't have a home check from the RSPCA as we were out of their area though the did do a voter's roll check and did an interview at the home. We had to provide several forms of ID as well.
They were so overflowing at that point that they had cats in pens in the reception. Sometimes maybe they have to go with gut instinct when they are so much in need of homes for the animals. I think Callie and Monty were pleased we chose them anyway :shy:

Alright B-Face!
Yes indeed, he's a cutie and I've been scouring Liam's instagram feed for photos....your man must be seriously busy as the feed is quite lacking!
Look forward to meeting the little man soon...could bring our boys on their leads if you wanted to socialise him when he's more confident?

He does look a little sad doesn't he? In fact he was purring away and this morning he got into bed with me.. so I think it's safe to say we are going to be friends :Luv:
Still nervy but getting there, it's only been 2 days! I think he's doing really well! Hope tonight intros go ok!
Hey Traz! Busy yes, but busy at a members club till 4am... seriously suffering today!
-
Still hanging out with Rock Stars?
-
Yes... and the tragedy is... I'd rather be at home with a cuppa and the cats!
-
You and me too!
If I was at home with the boys, I might learn where they've hidden my glasses!
-
Let's hope Drum and Mo will be cuddling tonight ;)

Haha, it is! He 'works from home' I think you can see what that entails... ;-)
I kid, he does work very hard and does use the internet to do so :-)
I am amused by Drum's face in that picture, she looks totally put out that she has to share the photographic limelight...
