Xander has a fur ball which he can't seem to get up. He's been sick a couple of times over the last week. Then last night he was trying to be sick at about 8 then twice more in the night. Seems a lot to me, should I be thinking of a vets visit? He is fine in himself and has been running around with his sister this morning. He has grass and a malt paste although I offer it him everyday he only occasional eats it. Any suggestions gratefully received?

Have you tried rubbing the paste onto his paws? Mosi won't eat that stuff so I smear it into the fur so that he has to lick it off. Might help him pass it.

I have many such issues with Marmalade!
1: Butter
2: Tuna/Sardines in oil
3: Whiskas hairball treats for maintenance
I avoid the paste as it has an undesirable effect which involves baby wipes and a comb

I tried putting it on legs and all they did was smear it on every surface they could..............yuk and sticky.
I wwould just leave bowl of biscuits down , Misa fills his face and overeats to make himself sick. Lupin just upchucks them and Sasa too.

Thanks guys. Still no sign of the fur ball but he has eaten a good amount of the paste for the last 2 days. He's quite a sensitive boy so can't mess with him much as he gets upset. So paste on feet not a good idea. Will try the tuna in oil later if nothing happening. Can you get something like a laxative for this sort of thing?

No I dont think so.....I would just leave it for now, it will emerge when its ready

I use to put a spoonful of cod liver oil on Holly's food when she was alive. I can't remember her having furball's
