I remember when cc changed from PDSA to her new vets they took ages getting the case file sorted!  :tired:

Glad to here the little doll is doing fine and I do hope they can get to the bottom of this for her! C'mon Portia!  :wish:

Lisa....I know your probably feeling pretty awful right now, dont think that anyone one here will give you any jip....Just remember that you gave her up for the good of her!

Yes Lisa,  we all know you tried so hard with Portia,  we know you must be really sad to have let her go,  but do come on here and let us try and cheer you up

Have just phoned vets and Portia is much brighter this morning. They still want to keep her in. They have not yet received history from pdsa. I have phoned pdsa who say it has been sent but will resend the information.

Just thought I would start a new thread on this as the postings about Portia are split between a number of boards at the moment.

I have just got in from work and seen the update,  I am so pleased Portia is in the right place at the vets,   Angie you are great

Lisa you have done the right thing,  if Angie's vet wanted to keep Portia overnight it must be something that needs treating immediately

Just phoned up vet 'cos they close at 6-15.

She's had a load of fluids and some food and is being kept in overnight. They are still waiting for the records, even though we popped in before we got back and were told they were ready to be faxed.

:thanks:i hope no one thinks that i dont care for portia as i do ,im just going through finacial difficulties at the mo and im struggling to sort her , i am trying everything in my power :'(

No one thinks you dont care for Portia honey,  it just maybe better if you sign Portia over to Angie,  Angie has access to vets/medication/the right food etc etc,   from my experience Kittens that are Poorly normally make for quite poorly adult cats and you could find yourself in this situation on quite a regular basis.  I know it will be heartbreaking to hand over Portia,  but you know in your heart it will be the right decision.

I think this should be a warning that unfortunately these things can happen, like any pet cats can be costly and may need alot of attention, these things should be taken into consideration before adopting a pet

I agree totally with Jack and WC,   number one priority at the moment is to get Portia to the vets urgently,  why do you all need to go ?,   is there nobody that can give you a lift ?,  if your vet care is free why not call the vet and ask them to come out and see her as an emergency,  I know my Mum has called out the vet before when she was unable to get to the surgery.  My cats are suffering in this heat and they are eating and drinking but it must be horrific for Portia being ill as well.   If I was closer I would come and pick you up and take you to the vets but I am just too far away

I tend to agree with WC. Can't your partner look after the children while you take Portia to the vets? Surely it's more important that she gets seen by a professional than all the family being present.

Lisa, I'm really not trying to be harsh but Portia really needs medical attention. If she's stopped eating as well as having the runs she'll not be sustaining herself. She could get seriously ill to the point of not getting better.

Do you really ALL need to be part of a vet visit?

I know you must all be very concerned about poor Portia - Id be desperate - but this may be the time for just one of you to go - especially if it involves bus travel.

Having had to take my own cat (Gizmo RIP~) back and forth by bus to our vets when he had to have his tail amputated (he was missing for 10 days - we still don't know how the accident happened) I would think it easier for just one of you to go!!

And I didn't know you could get free vet care  if you were on benefits Thats good news for a lot, Id guess.

Good luck - I do hope Portia will be OK - poor mite
