We have as far as I know never had any Denby white. There are Denby second shops around, well there is one in Matlock anyway and to be honest on some of it you cannot really see a flaw

Know the feeling, loads of odd mugs, although I do have a china tea set which we had for a wedding present over 40 years ago, Only ever been used about 6 times, as I have an Aunty who will only drink out of a china cup. I also have a matching coffee set which we designed and had specially made at a pottery in Devon. Trouble is we don't use it as I am very clumsy and we soon would not have any cups and no way of replacing them. Thinking about it I think we have lots of sets of dinner plates. sets of 2 that is, (the rest somehow managed to get broken) possibly soon to be sets of 1. If ever we have anyone say like Lynn to dinner we will have to go out and purchase a dinner set. Denby

I have a set for the B&B but they are gradually getting chipped and I am not replacing them as they are too expensive for the riffraff that stay here. £8 for a saucer!! - it cost an arm & a leg buying all denby small mugs, saucers, side plates, dinner plates, teapots, milk jugs, sugar bowls etc. - I must have been mad but had all these great ideas when I started out. It will be woolies or BHS when I buy a new set. For myself, I don't have 2 mugs that match but I have some great porcelain teacups from Tshibo (the saucers have all disappered as they were use for cat dishes

)

I'd never heard of Denby til today, had a friend round who asked if my cups were Denby, I understand they're posh stuff.......I was almost insulted! They're Matalans finest actually, might get rid of em can't be having people thinking I'm posh!

can't be done with tea cups actually, handles usually to small and never hold enough. altho i am not like dh who drinks pints of tea

(he's tea total also so has a tea belly and not a beer belly

When things are written on a forum, they can be taken totally out of context and it's easy to do. I honestly don't think any malice was meant on Ela's part........maybe some post come across the total opposite to how they should but if you read between the lines you will see that.
