Can''t you stop the kids doing that to start with ??
Is there one or two cats for rehoming ?
If one , just wondered why there are 2 in picture?

Hi, and welcome to Purrs.

Hopefully, a loving home will turn up for Jet soon - she's lovely, as is the other cat in the photo.

Just as an aside, have edited your thread title as "free to a good home" posts aren't encouraged. Asking the person prepared to offer Jet a home to donate a small amount to a cat rescue of your choice is preferred.

Also, where abouts are you? Why has puss not been spayed yet? There are plenty of charities prepared to help if the cost is an issue. After all, no one wants 1 cat turning into 9 cats.  :tired:

Hi Jemma, welcome.  Can you tell us which area this is please as it's a good idea to add it to the title.

Have you contacted any rescues in your area? they may be full but it's a good idea to ask to go on a waiting list.

If you find your area on the map and click on there will be a list of rescues you can contact:

Hi Jemma, I've moved your thread to this section and notice you've already posted.  Would you like your threads merging and can you confirm which area this is please?

Meanwhile, here is a list of rescues you could contact they may be full but you need to ask to go on a waiting list if so or ask for direct homing where the cat stays with you until a home is found:

click on the map to find your area, thanks.

If your children are old enough to be able to pick her up, aren't they old enough to learn the meaning of the word 'no'?  It seems such a sad reason to part with a much loved family member, and a missed opportunity to help children learn to treat animals with respect and compassion.

ETA:  Please please don't 'give away' an unspayed cat.  Many 'nice homes' belong to back street breeders  :(

Valid point about ensuring the safety of where a cat is going, Sweepster.

Jet is still looking.

As a rescue i have an issue with cats being rehomed on Purrs without being neutered!! It really does not help us all..
I realise that there is little to be done to verify the neutering status of posts on here, but confirmation of intention of neutering and CP vouchers (and the use of) will help..
As little Jet will turn into 9 other Little Jets in no time at all and how does that help anyone..

I agree that Jet needs spaying ASAP - and not just for the "little Jets" you've mentioned. There's also the aspect of Jets health being impacted every season she's allowed.

Which one is Jet? I agree with sweepster about the meaning of the word no-children are not taught nowadays what it means. My grandchildren know that when i say no,that's what i mean!
