Post by: Gill (sneakiefeline) on November 17, 2006, 23:06:14 PM
Hope you are all waiting and getting ready for the Auction which starts next thursday at 1900. Keep you eyes on the Auction section just in case we post some last minute stuff and make sure you have read the instructions and know how it works.

Any questions just ask.

Hope we are gonna have loads of fun.

What if you have two of the same item to sell ? Do I do two separate auctions ?
They are items you couldn't really use two of so selling them together would be a bit daft I think.
Title: Re: Chrissy Auction
Post by: Gill (sneakiefeline) on November 17, 2006, 23:33:28 PM
You sell em as two different items

If it was things that could go together say two cat dishes you could sell em together or separate :)

Nope noone knows except for a few surprize auction items that we are gonna have up for auction by very generous peeps.
I been collecting all year for it so got loads to out up. Most are brand new toys my lads just won't play with. Fussy and to bloomin spolit!!

I love the witty way the auctioneers advertised their items last year and the bids against each other.
It was a laugh. Had to change me knickers every time!! ?;D

Post by: Roz on November 18, 2006, 11:22:10 AM
We need all those absconders from the other sites.? The more peeps bidding the better.? How can we get them to come over to us....even if it's only for the auction?

Ron needs all the money we can raise.

By the way, I WILL be offering a cat-proofing kit? ;D

Lots of love

Has anyone e-mails all the CC members from the list we were given?
Title: Re: Chrissy Auction
Post by: Gill (sneakiefeline) on November 18, 2006, 11:42:39 AM
thats is wonderful and very generous Roz, i have a list of peeps on sams list but i need to extract all the email addys out and send em all an email.

iI emailed someone that i thought was amanda at the vets with the cat and was wrong person and i dont recognize peeps here cos names often have changed :(

Ela I am sure we would love to have your money and anyone else who wants to donate is also but would prefer not to have a condition attached.

However we need peeps to take part in the auction and Rozs auction item is not only stunning but worth a lot of money and I think we also have another high priced thing on offer but am waiting confirmation from the person concerned.
Title: Re: Chrissy Auction
Post by: Gill (sneakiefeline) on November 18, 2006, 11:44:16 AM
No Ela and its hard to do cos all the emails need extracting and I needed to double check that Sam list of receivers of the list did not include them
Title: Re: Chrissy Auction
Post by: Roz on November 18, 2006, 11:52:39 AM
Hi Gill

Re: Amanda, I have already e-mailed her myself so please don't worry.? I can send you her e-mail address if you would like me to but we e-mail each other quite often, re the cats etc.? Amanda and 'Nell' were the reason I became involved with C.C. in the first place.....

Lots of love

Roz
Title: Re: Chrissy Auction
Post by: Ela on November 18, 2006, 11:54:47 AM
I could easily extract and send e-mail to one the the rest cc, (as long as not too many are sent at a time). I once sent mail to every CP Branch who has e-mail and AOL cut me of as I had sent an unusual no of e-mails at once. I had then to convince them I was not a perv.

I am not quite sure I understand the last bit of your comment, I am being a bit think and I have a headache and that is my excuse. Or are you saying no need to send them to those who Sam sent list too if so does it matter if they are already on here? Oh! I am confusing muself even more now.
Title: Re: Chrissy Auction
Post by: Gill (sneakiefeline) on November 18, 2006, 12:16:48 PM
Ok Ela I understand .

Sam sent the list to everyone who asked for it but on the last issue of the list there were addressees and copy adressees and I dont know if the latter were the people on the list.

If they were everyone knows about this site cos the link was there but if not someone needs to email everyone on Sams list. I am kinda busy at the moment so if you have the time, Tan and I would be very grateful. If you are too busy I will try and do it over the weekend.
Title: Re: Chrissy Auction
Post by: Ela on November 18, 2006, 13:11:10 PM
I will get on with it then, I will try to leave out those I know are already here.

Hi ya folks ... can I help in any way with notifying everyone about the aution?

I don't want to patronise anyone but do youknow how to extract the email addresses easily from the list?  If not I I have them all extracted already so I can forward that to soneone if needed.

Title: Re: Chrissy Auction
Post by: Ela on November 18, 2006, 13:25:28 PM
Its working cos I have sent one to myself, so I will send a few at a time for the reason exlained earlier.
Title: Re: Chrissy Auction
Post by: Sam (Fussy_Furball) on November 18, 2006, 13:30:10 PM
Ela,

I wouldn't wory about sending to people who are already on here ....just knock 'em out to everyone!  It is for a good cause after all.

I found if you send themfrom hotmil you can put 50 address in the To: box and then another 50 in the cc box.

Hope this helps.

Another thought ... are we advertising the auction on thehovel in case there are any peep onthat site that might not have been CC member and would liek to help Ron out (I know they all know Ron over there)
Title: Re: Chrissy Auction
Post by: Ela on November 18, 2006, 15:23:55 PM
All sent  I just missed about 6 who I know for sure are on here, sorry everyone else who receives mail, but it saved time just to go through the list.

Title: Re: Chrissy Auction
Post by: Ela on November 18, 2006, 16:18:07 PM
If I noticed a name and I knew for sure they had already registered then I did not bother to send mail. Mind you I did not look at too many names and just got on with it so many of you will receive the mail.

Title: Re: Chrissy Auction
Post by: Gill (sneakiefeline) on November 19, 2006, 22:18:12 PM
The auction money will be by paypal but also can be by other methods and all details will be given at the end of the auction.

The way the auction works is that every item will be finished for bidding at 1900 on the same day.................gosh forgotten date.......... and we will post all instructions about payment and sending out items then..........rushing to get closing date......... :-[ :-[ :-[

Title: Re: Chrissy Auction
Post by: Gill (sneakiefeline) on November 23, 2006, 12:16:50 PM
Ok here we go with minute instruction for full version see here

http://www.chaptanservices.com/purrs/index.php?topic=12.0

Everyone with items to be auctioned, please start a new thread under the Christmas Auction section (a separate new thread for each item). The subject of the thread needs to be the item name.
In the message box you need to give a clear description of the item, with a picture if possible (items sell better with a pic!), the start price if there is one and any other useful information!!
It is suggested that where it is not actually a cat related item you come up with a witty way of linking it to cats.
Remember dear peeps that the aim is to sell sell sell..........ummmmmm did I steal that..............and get as much money as possible.

Last year the auctioneers agreed very kindly to cover the postage and packing costs of the items to be sent to the winning bidders. The P&P will then be added to the winning bid amount when the auctions close and this total will be paid by the winning bidder direct to Ron to add to his funds.
Please could you post on each of your auction threads the cost of P&P of the item.

So be ready for action at 1500  ;D

:Hello: just a quick message to all bidders.

:thanks: :thanks: :thanks: for all your bids and I do hope you are keeping your finances in good order

However seriously make sure you check the summary every so often and add up how much you have bid and remember where P&P is stated on the first post that also has to be added. Its easy to get carried away with all the wonderful things on offer but I would hate anyone to get themselves into probs at this time of the year  :disguise:

Keep up your wonderful work auctioneers and bidders and if any one has any new items to go on, we will be delighted to see them. :xmas 3:

Auction finishes at 1900 on 11 Dec.

Paying is done asap after auction finishes because we want to get money to Ron as quickly as possible but also that no goods will be despatched until money has been received and the last day for 1st class post for Christmas is 16 Dec, even second class may be dealyed at this time of year.

Ok right peeps listen up, this is the news from me and my partner Tan on payment and posting for the auction.

All money from winning bidders must be paid by close of play 15 Dec 06, so that should make Susanne happy  ;D. As soon as we know the money has been received it will be posted in the auction section and peeps can then send out the items to their knew owners. Hopefully everyone will beat the last post for Christmas quite easily.

Sounds good? I  :censored: Hope so

All details of how to pay the money and where will be put up as the auction ends. Me and my mate Tan will work our lil fingers to the bone to make sure everything goes smoothly as it can  :ahh:

Hi hannah

It was very last minute thing last year so only did it for a week with not many knowing about it like this year. We got about 400 for Dawn i think.

I can't believe this year, i was expecting the same as last year but i think all the advertising for it has help a lot. :)

It's easy to change your password if you're not panicking!  That's why I've suggested checking it now, rather than at the last minute (like me last time! :innocent:)
