So there have been a few shaky starts to the year and some sad stories in Rehoming but I thought I'd start a cheerier thread about the good we've done in our furbabes' lives. Not just in rescue but all who've taken on a slightly worse-for-wear moglet.
I'll start you off with the Corporal, before and after. I saw these pics next to each other on my PC and couldn't believe it was the same cat!
I know Witty has some great Pearl pics too, hope to see them on here!
Here's CS before (on the day we got him)...

and this was him last Sunday:

no wonder he looks so grumpy in that first shot - I would too if I knew I was as capable of looking good as he is, but had not been given the chance. Well done you and lucky corporal too!! :wow:

I love foofoo! I may even file the name away for future use!

Well you can thank Diddydawn's hubbie for the name, it was his choice and lets just say it stuck as she suited it so much! ;)

How Stinky has grown!! :Luv: Did his eye colour change? BTW how did he get his name??? Is he happy about that? :evillaugh:
-
He's being called Stinky today because he's been stinking the house down all day   If he's not careful he's going to be permantly stuck with that name!!! No he's not impressed, he's actually been giving me dirty looks at being called Stinky .... it is his own fault.
Yes his eye colour did change. The before pictures he was 5/6weeks he's now 5 months.
-
Oh dear what happened if you fed him too much cheese that was YOUR fault too hun :evillaugh:
Memphy, Stinky, or whatever he is called today he is lovely no matter what colour his eyes are :Luv:
-
Well, you have twisted my arm, Amy! ;) Mind, I don't need much encouragement to share piccies of Madam Pearl. :Luv2:
The top shot is the first ever photo I took of her, just a few scant moments after she climbed out of a CP cat carrier and walked into my life. The bottom one is of her at the Supreme Show in November. When I look at the difference, it always makes me so emotional... :shy:

Sorry the point of reference used is not exactly elegant :shy: however it provides a perfect measure and he loves to get cozy in there
Before pic was taken in early October 2007, about 3 weeks after he joined us
After pic was taken last week.
See how he is filling the bidet now? :evillaugh:

I think all these before and after pictures are stunning, well done to everyone, Shows what some TLC can do ;D ;D
-
I will only use Molly, cos my other success stories are with other people now. I took Molly on just over 2 years ago cos we didnt think she had long left to live, and I wanted her to have a home environment, she went on to prove us wrong, and she is a happy, healthy little girl now, who just wanted a home, and loves to play (she is currently curled up on the bed, bless her). I will have to post pics later, I dont seem to have her first pics on my home pc at the moment and photobucket isn't working.

Some British people always wondered what a bidet was for Licia!!! :naughty: :evillaugh: :Luv2:

What a great idea for a topic... nice and cheery and just what peeps need at the moment I think!!
Best I could think of for now for us is our wee Yoda. We kept him on as he didn't grow until he was about 6months old. He came to us with bad cat flu and toxic poisoning which resulted in sores all over his wee face, feet and body. In this pic he is approx 10 weeks old and has started to heal up nicely although you can still see some pink where the fur was yet to grow back.
This is a pic of him at approx 6mths old now growing.... wooo hhoooo! lol
(http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd187/saznpaul/Pet%20Pics/yoda.jpg)
He is now a handsome boy (although still very short and stocky... as he never grew properly) with a very jelly like skeletal structure! As my OH would say... he can be a true flat cat... cos he squishes down so thin!!!
This is a pic of him sharing a bed with one of the other in the clan.

That's a fair point CurlyCatz, it can be extended for kitten-to-cat pics too.
Any excuse for an ogle at our furbabes! ;)
-
I'm in :Luv2: Catz... I adore Gingers! awwwww lol
-
Oops sorry about posting my pic without checking with you Amy... :-[ :sneakin: I should have but my Ollie never experienced a rough life either, except that it takes him a monumental perseverance to coax his meowmy who doesn't do mornings for his brekky everyday... :innocent:
-
I love that bottom pic of Yoda, he looks like he's trying to get something out from between his teeth :evillaugh:
Ta madkitty...he's quite a character is our Codster !

Tiggy & Benji
Dumped on a skip at approx 2 weeks old, handreared by the vets until 4 -5 weeks when they came home to live with her forever family. Only a few days after bringing them home Tiggy was rushed to the emergency vet who diagnosed FIP and a congenital hip deformity. She actually had none of the above and lived to one month short of her 19th birthday. She left for the Bridge in February last year, we lost her brother Benji in 1999.

Well, since we are having before and after kitten style as well ..... :Luv:
Smidgen on the day he arrived (mind you he had shared the back seat of the car all the way from Cheshire to Chatham so could hardly claim they had not been introduced ...

Damn can't find any "bad" ones of either Billy Whiz or Freddie to show how we've saved them from a fate worse than ****** but honest we did ;D This is best I can do:
Billy our darling boy before
(http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii191/Rosella100/Cats/BillyWhizbefore.jpg)
Billy Whiz recently
(http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii191/Rosella100/Cats/BillyWhizafter.jpg)
Freddie hun bun on arrival
(http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii191/Rosella100/Cats/Freddiebefore.jpg)
Freddie a month or so ago
(http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii191/Rosella100/Cats/Freddieafter.jpg)
Sorry I suppose I must have waited till they looked respectable before showing them off although have to say they've always kept them selves looking pretty fab although Freddie wiffed a bit initially
-
Freddie looks like a different cat ;D
-
Aww, love the after pic of Freddy.
-
Ta. Yes I think Freddie blossomed a wee bit. More difficult to tell with Billy but Billy's tail is about twice it's initial thickness. It was very thin when he came here. He looked like a kitten even though he was 3 years old.
Meant to say BC, that piccie of Smidgen and Shadow is lovely :Luv2: Is it Molly that's 15 Desley as she doesn't look it. Must hunt down recent thread.
-
Aww - never had a cat who's tail got thicker, but Tom's certainly got thinner while here!!
yep, Miss Molly is 15, and in perfect health!! That after pic was taken over Christmas I think. She never has looked her age.
