Appeal re posted with links. Wish the very very best to Molly at Feline care

My lovely friend Molly has been running a cat sanctuary ''Feline Care'' in Norfolk UK for the last few years on next to nothing.

Now the owners no longer want the responsibility and have given the ultimatum to find £70,000 in 3 months (by end Sept) to become a charity in it's own right and buy the land where the centre is built or the sanctuary will be closed.

Not only will it be a knock to the many cats that need rescuing locally, but it is also desperately sad news for the resident cats that are to old, ill or unhomeable.

As of today 27/09/11 they still need to raise £14,000 by the end of September.

They have done amazingly well to of got this far in such a short period of time, especialy as they are so busy looking after the animals already in their care.

Please help, any amount big or small are so very very much appreciated.

Please also 'like' their facebook page, as the more people that know, the more chance the animals will receive help.

Hi,

Thank you for the replies,

I'm really sorry if I offended anyone and do appreciate that forums have rules.

I think i got carried away when I saw the Fundraising for cats section. Other forums don't seem to have a section like this, I couldn't believe my luck and thought thank you this is so much easier. I basically jumped to the wrong conclusions. I am trying really hard to get the word out and so desperately want the sanctuary to be saved that I ran ahead of myself.

I am new to all this and hope people realise that my intentions are honest, and from a good place.

I also appreciate that there are many amazing people out there that put a huge amount of time and effort and money into helping animals, and often it feels overwhelming when again another person/charity asks for help, especially when you are already stretched to your limit financially, physically and often mentally, but if you don't ask the people who care, you don't get help. There are many people for what ever reason have to genuinely decline, and that should be respected, but by getting an appeal heard you increase your chance of finding that person who can help. Feline care is a small charity, they have no campaign manager or fund raising team, just friends desperately trying to help. I may have got it wrong, but I am glad i am trying.

Tan thank you for your reply I will contact you asap

Angie

Hi Angelina

Welcome and apologies for some of the replies on your thread.
It does sound like Molly is a lovely caring lady with helping the needy cats at Feline Care.  :)
We do have a guide on Purrs for any appeals posted to be looked at and if not part of our official fundraising, we pop a disclaimer on the thread let the members know it is their choice to check and donate if they would like to.
If you could pop me an email to purrs@purrsinourhearts.co.uk or pop a pm to me, i will have a look and if all ok will pop the disclaimer on and pop the links back.  :)

I do sincerely  wish and hope that Molly can continue helping the needy cats in her care.

Tan

There was nothing impolite about what I said it was just factual and links are now gone.

There are many good cases out there but the rules of the forum must be followed and Purrs cannot stump up with the money for all.

To put it bluntly I think its a real nerve for a just joined member to put this on Purrs but if the rules are foillowed it will be considered.

Are you going to donate Liz?

Links are still there and it is a genuine appeal but does need to be run passed Admin or Tan

You obviously havent read the information and rules on this site!

You cannot run an appeal on here without staff approval and I do not have time to read all the links, so am removing them until you provide a written case with supporting evidence to a member of Purrs staff or the Admin Tan.
