well the good news is that I stupidly left the back door unlocked this morning so drainpipes would not have been necessary Julie. The bad news is his wife answered the phone when I called today ...

The other good news is that I have had two more calls reporting Madeline in the same general area, so am about to head off there (wearing more suitable cat-wrangling clothes) to see what I can do.

My sinusitis really kicked in last night and had next to no sleep and a bit of a temperature all day so have been sent home from work early so I can recover. Little do they realise I will be spending the next few hours climbing over obstacles and sitting in scudding showers while looking for a cat ... Ah well, life is never dull I guess.

I think I am going to have to do a swoop as I am concerned she may wander onto Palmerston Road. My stranger/allies have reported her there and have instructions to encourage her back into the alley ways, but am not too sure how reliable they are. They might try to catch her which could spook her. Will phone them again tonight once i have done a patrol and see if I can encourage a more moderate approach... One was willing to stand and keep an eye on her until I got there, but changed her mind when she discovered I was in London. Still that sort of dedication could come in useful if directed in the right direction ...

BC seeing as Maddie used to live with a man and, if I remember correctly the last person that she "befriended" was a man ... I get the impression this little Madam "likes the boys"  :evillaugh:  therefore if your nice "chap down the road" is on the case I have a feeling she quite likely to go to him if he is calm.

I agree BC.

I have taken her name off the National Register and will delete it from Cat Chat now.  If she is unsited for any length of time I can easily put the ads back on but for now totally agree.

Just in case you do go out braless tomorrow I am praying for warmer drier weather for you. :-[ ;D

Take care, night to all

that sounds like good advice Rae, the last thing i want is a bunch of chav kids chasing her in hopes of a reward. I think that with some patience and help from the nice man down the road, we should manage to bring her back home. Hopefully it won't take 4 months this time ...

If we make it as calm and non-threatening an approach as possible we should make haste slowly.

It is forecasting rain tomorrow, but still mild, so will hope this will encourage her to be a bit more committed to accepting help. The little madam was just sitting looking at me from a distance of about 20 feet, as if to say - hah, can't catch me!

Just a last quick message before I go to bed.  The Siamese Rescue have just been in touch and advised that they have read the thread and are going to hold off advertising Maddie as missing for the moment in case any "well intentioned persons"  attempt to "rescue" her when she is so close to home.

I fully understand what they are saying and so for the time being have removed her from the missing pet register as she is not really lost at the moment (thank goodness).

I hope this makes sense and that everyone agrees this is the best thing for the time being.

Sending loads of positive vibes over to Maddie to hurry home.

Rae, if you feel even a tenth as terrible about this as I do you are holding together very well. We know where she is, we know she is safe, and we have the means to establish a routine for her to settle down to which will hopefully not take too long. Just keep sending her calming vibes, and I am getting an animal communicator to do the same thing (with some clear directions on where to go to be safe). So lots of calm thoughts her way and also a big 'move up the hill, past the cat tent to the garden with the Anderson shelter in it - after the sun goes down, but before dark so the dog and the house cats are not there ...' - of we all send the same message to her, she should receive it. Anyone with a spare 10 minutes, send it to her while looking at the photo on this thread ...

Thanks all

Haven't had a chance to read the PMs yet, but look forward to doing so. BUT!!! Madeline has been spotted, and, as I suspected, it loitering in the back footpath. There is heaps of cover there, so I suspected she would go to ground there.  :wow:

The man who responded to my flyer rang, and as we were speaking, she wandered across this back garden. Unfortunately he went out and she shot of back up the path. Of all the gardens in the street, his is the best one for a lost and confused cat as he has a double block, with the undeveloped section overgrown with vegetation.

So the plan is, he will put food out for her every morning at 7 am, in the routine she is accustomed to, and I have put the Ikea Tent half way along that part of the alley (with a note explaining why it is there), together with another bowl of food which will be replaced twice daily. I will sadly have no idea whether it is Madeline or someone else eating from my bowl, but my neighbour at No 68 will know when she eats from his. :wow:

So all is not completely lost, phew!

Will keep you posted and will spend some time in his back garden every evening until I can get her safely home ...

I agree with Julie I have a feeling that Maddie will show herself when she feels hungry.  The main thing in her favour is the fact she is a Siamese - everyone knows what a Siamese looks like (even people that know nothing about cats) so as long as BC gets the word out (which I have no doubt she has done and will continue to do) as soon as Maddie shows herself she will be caught.

Rae, I am so sorry about this awful thing.   :'(

Fortunately Maddie is now chipped and we have her number. I believe she is now registered to you? I also think her chip has been 'flashed up' as a missing cat with Petplan?  :shify: This will let anyone scanning her immediately see her status.  ;)

Because I've dealt with trying to find this cat before and after seeing the terrain BC lives in when I dropped her off, I think it's highly possible she's still within a 200 yard radius of BC's house. Maddie is sly alright!  :tired: She'll allow herself to be caught when she's good and ready, and as time increases that gets more likely as she runs out of easy food sources. Please try not to worry about her safety as there aren't any major hazzards in the area.  ;)

I don't think there is anything else to be done from a remote distance. Finding her will be due to house to house enquiries, etc., and I'm afraid only BC can do that. I really wish her the best of luck.  :(

Hiya all

Sorry I am being such a pain but can anyone put missing Maddie on the lost and found pages please.  I dont have enough information about where she is missing from such as the area, town etc or her size, colours, and all the important information needed to start a lost thread.

I would really approeciate it, I know Jo is probably doing everything possible to find her so maybe a lost cat notice would help on the Lost and found page.  I have put a notice on CatChat wth a link back to this thread and left a message with Medway RSPCA just in case and have left details with Celia Hammond Animal Trust, Union Street, also known as Marchig Animal Welfare Trust Animal Clinic. (Tel: 01634 202203).   THe lady there says that if any cat is brought to them they will scan for chips immediately but she has taken my number just in case.

I have emailed her details to  Siamese Cat Club Welfare Trust, Lost & Found Siamese.

Maddie now listed onwww.nationalpetregister.org/index.php as well.

I am currently ringing round and leaving messages where I can.  Hope this is ok.. .  I dont want to tread on toes and do things that have already been organised buy others so just let me know if im being a pain.  I am  happy to help. :)

Thank You
xxxxxx

Ps.  I will keep editing this post with details of where I have sent Maddies profile if thats ok too.
