Been asked to crosspost this girl.
Meow Mee is approximately five years old, and urgently needs either a new home or a rescue space. She is an indoor/outdoor cat and likes people very much but isn't fond of dogs.
-
awww, she's sweet :Luv: wish her lots of luck xx
-
Hi, are there any photos/descriptions of Meow Mee? :)
-
Can't you see the photo that Jack has posted - if not have you logged in?
-
Ha! Now I can; I had read the post before registering. She's pretty! :tired:
-
that's good :)
-
She is. :) Sadly, that's all the information I was given - will try and get more.
-
Thanks; would be good to know if she's good with kids and other cats. Thank you!
-
Have asked the OP. :)
-
Fab, thanks JackSpratt! :wow:
-
Right - Meow Mee is apparently fine around the other cats and children she's been around, but (and this is a rather odd specification) she doesn't like cars. :-: She's being rehomed due to her owner emigrating.
-
Thank you! Sounds promising! Do you know if she's spayed/healthy etc? Sorry to keep bombarding.
-
No, it's wise to ask - would you like me to try and find a contact email out?
-
Hee hee - that might be wise! I would want to know that we weren't going to be saddled with all sorts of problems when the charity through whom we got our last boy was so thorough . . . ;)
-
OK - Meow Mee is spayed, she's recently had a vet check and all her innoculations are up to date.
-
Now I'm ever so slightly excited. Deep breath so as not to get too carried away.
-
Sent you the details. ;) Let us know how you get on....there's a Purrs successes section, you know. :)
-
Hee hee ;D - I shall be sure to post if all goes well. :thanks:
-
Well I have emailed; just waiting to see if her current family get back to me now! I've showed her photo to the children who think she's very pretty. X ;D
-
Don't forget sunscreen for outside in the summer ;)
White cats are very prone to skin cancer - especially on their ears. I think there are cat-safe ones.
-
Yes Polly Lolly Legs has to have suncream on her ears and nose, we use Equimins Sunscreen Lotion
-
Hee hee - our vet told us that for Simba (who's white and ginger, mostly ginger on ears, just not on tips) but getting him to 'enjoy' having the kids' Boots sunspray anywhere near him was a challenge last summer. Will have to get some cat friendly stuff that I can make part of my routine on sunny days. :sneaky:
-
Still waiting to hear from the current owner whom I emailed last night - maybe it's not meant to be, but then again, patience is not my strongest virtue . . . :catplay2:
:poke: :cheer:
-
Heard anything back yet? :shify:
-
'Fraid not. Perhaps I'm meany to go down the kitten route after all . . . :scared:
-
the great advantage in taking on an older cat with young children though, is that the cat will teach the children what they can and can't do with him/her
and of course older cats scratch an awful lot less than kittens
-
I know, I know, I know. Simba has taught my 5yo human a lot about handling pussums. A few deft swipes here and there and now he feels he's groomed her and often, he seeks her out for a lap to sit upon. Just found out I need to wait until mid-April now anyway . . . ;)
-

Why's that then?
-
will pm - nothing sinister, just best to leave getting puss til after then.
-
Meant to post on here - the lady is currently in Hong Kong, which is why you probably haven't heard back yet. Apparently, she's unlikely to be in touch until the end of the month, which might work out better for you anyway!
-
Nks JS will pm you
-
Any news?
-
kcsunshine is in touch with Meowmees current people and will update us when she knows more. ;)
-
ok thanks :)
-
She is gorgeous!
-
Due to a shift in personal circumstances this weekend, I've told Meow Mee's owner that we will be unable to take her so soon, so if anyone does want to get in touch with her, Jack Spratt will I'm sure be happy to help. Her family is relocating abroad, I think, this weekend . . .
KC x
-
Apparently, Meow Mee is in the owners house with her brother, but there's only until the end of this week to find Meow Mee a rescue place or a permanent home. If you can help, please get in touch.
-
Is she in the house alone with no permanent carers JS and has her brother got a home lined up?
-
No home lined up. Brother living in owners home until end of the week....I think that's the situation. Can't recall seeing if Meow Mee is indoor outdoor but may have missed it. Have asked.
-
Fingers crossed someone can help soon xx
-
I've said if NO other options are forthcoming I'll care for Meow Mee until a home is found. (Not ideal, as a transport run will be required and it will seriously stretch my budget but there needs to be a contingency plan really.)
-
Jack, could you ask them to get in touch with Mayhew animal home and see if they have a place to take her in?
-
Will do, thanks Pav. :)
Edit: Got the response "they won't call a rescue in case she's PTS."
-
Hi JS
Wonder if this poster would be interested. She posted another thread about adopting a cat (indoor 5+ years old pref female and lives in London/Essex) - here is the thread:
http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,31563.0.html
Also, she posted on this thread:
She is gorgeous!
Do you think it may be worth checking with her to see if she would be interested (subject to home check of course)?
-
Meow Mee is indoor outdoor, I had this confirmed earlier and haven't had chance to update. Not sure if she'd cope with the change, but I'll ask.
-
You could get them to ask Gill Stampe if she has any ideas. She has a lot of contacts http://www.islington.gov.uk/Directories/page.aspx?dir=LTCS&dir_name=LTCS&docid=0901336c805a5017 She used to look after our cats when we lived in London.
They also really should try CP in Archway as they have a big homing centre (where I got Kylie from) they won't PTS

Well good news....turns out (and the lady who asked me to crosspost was only told this today >:() the neighbours didn't even know Meow Mee was home hunting and as soon as they did offered her a home with them!
So this lady is safe, but as always it would've been nice of the owners to keep us updated.... :tired:
-
Oh that's brilliant news! I'd recommended to the owner that she contact Claws when I realised we couldn't have her this week, but hadn't heard back either. :Luv2: So glad she's being rehomed and that everything has worked out.

Ahh, I'm so glad she found a home!
