I've said it before, but I hope there will be a day when mankind has to answer for all of the barbaric acts they've bestowed on other creatures.

Rest easy Felix, I'm sorry.
From out of nowhere you came strong as stone
And now I'll never have to be alone
What it is I know
You have always been my safe home

I did not see this first time round either.  This is so sad.  I have looked on the website to see if there is a statement from Oxford University but I cannot find anything?  I wonder how many more vivisection laboratories there are?  Poor Felix at least you are no longer suffering now, but unfortunately some other poor monkey probably is.

Whoever did this deserves the same treatment. I hope they suffer in hell for it - scum scum scum.

Someone should pay for this with their life.

DO NOT BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER ANIMALS DIE

I believe I am not interested to know whether Vivisection produces results that are profitable to the human race or doesn't. To know that the results are profitable to the race would not remove my hostility to it.  Mark Twain

I dont see the relavence we are not monkeys.

I do agree it's awful. Primates are the animal closest to us biologically, which is how all the experimentation on chimps etc. are justified by the people that do it.

Signed.

Give me a scalpel and a vivisector - inhumane b******ds - they all deserve a painful death!!!!!

The worrying thing is, I'm not sure how long this has been running but 800 signatures is nothing  :(

No worries, I'm just glad they've got a petition........people are more likely to support something like this if it's just a case of signing their name........that sounds awful but most people haven't got time to sit down to write letters, I know I don't  :tired:

Glad it is not just me then, I though I was missing something. Well I know I am missing something 'a brain' but that is another story.

I've tried looking for a petition on the sites and their doesn't appear to be one  :censored:  The only thing I can find is about making Oxford University aware that this isn't acceptable.  I will email Speak and ask if there is a petition that people can sign and I'll let you know  :)

EXTREMELY SAD NEWS - The Free Felix Campaign
« Reply #1 on: March 29, 2007, 02:18:40 AM »
Felix is a primate who is currently incarcerated inside Oxford University and will be used in a series of experiments into brain function. Felix was featured in the BBC2 documentary, 'Monkeys, Rats and Me', shown in November 2006.

Imagine being condemned to live your whole life behind bars in a cage that is barely big enough to hold you. Imagine, never being able to see beyond the bars into the natural world that is your birthright, never breathe fresh air, never interact and form relationships with your own kind. In this life, you will be 'trained' to do tricks for a reward, and will be punished if you fail; you will have electrodes implanted deep into your brain through your skull, you will experience years of abuse and then at the end of that abuse you will be put to death. This is the fate that awaits Felix.

Perversely his tormentors have given him the name 'Felix' which in Latin means happy. It is a sick 'in joke' by Oxford University vivisectors, which tells us a great deal about the mind of a vivisector.

The Home Office licence granted for the long-term experiments on Felix allows the infliction of severe/substantial suffering.

Felix is a bright sentient individual whose life belongs to him and no one else.
