DO NOT BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER ANIMALS DIE

I believe I am not interested to know whether Vivisection produces results that are profitable to the human race or doesn't. To know that the results are profitable to the race would not remove my hostility to it.  Mark Twain

Posted on behalf of new member Lexi_Petition

Hi,

I'm just wondering if you can help.

I was going to sign up to your site and post this myself but I thought it may look like spam (new member posting links to sites) so thought this may be the best way to ask for your help.

I have started a petition and am wondering if it's possible for you to put the link on your website.

Here's a bit of brief background information for you (it's explained in more detail on the petition and facebook websites).

My cat, Lexi, was run over and killed. Her body was collected by the local council from the lady who found her. They told her they do everything they can to reunite animals with there owners. However, we heard nothing and it was only by chance that we found out what happened at all, and we were very lucky to her body back to bury.

I've started a petition in the hope it will become law for councils to do as much as they can to get dead animals they collect back to their owners. This includes checking with local animals organisations to see if any animals have been reported missing, and checking for a chip.

Here's a link to the petition. http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/Lexixxx/

and here's a link to the facebook group I have created to spread the word http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=40910476679

I would be very grateful if you could post this on your site. I'm still very upset over losing my cat, but if something positive can come out of her leaving me I'm hoping it will make it a little easier to bare.

Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Laura
In ancient times cats were worshiped as gods; they have not forgotten this.
