where i live theres loads of cats at our local rspca shelter that have been found as strays and our now up for rehoming
they dont put them all to sleep  :-:

They do try to home strays but if they take too long then they often dont persevere with them.

I would air on the side of caution as Hippy says and not report it. Unless it was to another charity.

I'd be a little wary about calling the RSPCA until we know how they're enforcing the new law. Hopefully, they would just reprimand your neighbours, and give them advice about caring for the cat; on the other hand, they could take it, then the poor cat would too quickly be pts.

It's a shame you can't talk to them. Do you know any other neighbours who get on better with them and who might have a word? Definitely remove the collar.

My cats sometimes go to a cat-loving neighbour a few houses away and do their "we haven't been fed for a month" act! But if this cat is looking thin and being left out too much and has no cat flap, try to have a word, or put a letter through their door, couched in polite terms. Maybe point out to them that under the new legislation they have a duty to care for their cat properly.
Cats were once gods; they have never forgotten this, nor have the people they own.

its a shame u couldnt speak to ur neighbour about the cat but i do understand why u cant ,
when i lived at my mums we had a neighbours cat who constantly jumped through our kitchen window where she wanted some shelter and food and that ,she was such a babe and we all loved her , she infested us with fleas though  >:( >:( >:(

her owners didnt give a flying  :censored: about her
i remember once the woman knocked on the door and said she was going abroad for 3 weeks could my mum feed the cat for her ,she gave my mum 3 tins and said it would last 3 weeks
and said the cat wouldnt cause any bother and would make do sleeping rough for 3 weeks ,  my sister use to constantly go and bring her in our house and feed her my mums turkey slices lol

a year after that she went missing and was never found  :'(

her owners didnt care they went and got another cat  >:( >:( >:( >:(

we often still talk about little tinker
she was a fab cat  :Luv:

I wouldnt flea her as they may use a supermarket brand on her and you dont want to mix chemicals  ;D

Quote
we do let her in sometimes and give her some grub
Maybe thats where your flea came from!

shes not skinny or anything.

im just fed up of seeing her crying on our window ledge in the rain!

i cant speak to the neighbour about this because we have issues with her over noise etc.

we do let her in sometimes and give her some grub but cant too often as i dont wanna upset the boys

yep take it off of her asap

also is there any chance u could let her come in if she wants to come in so much ,
treat her for fleas too if not she will re infest ur house after u treat it !

if ur neighbour is neglecting her maybe u should think about a call to the rspca
u wouldnt have to give ur name and addresss if u explained ur a neighbour and didnt want bad feelings

i dont know what to do. my next door neighbour has a little black girl (neutered)

and it adopted us as a kitten (she let it out at 9 weeks old!!) and we thought it was a stray so took it in for a bit but put posters up. didnt have a collar so didnt have a clue who it belonged to.

anyways shes took it back 1 week later, and this is about a year ago now.

but she is always leaving it out, poor girls always trying to get into our house and sits and cries on our window ledge. but ive noticed her collar is way too tight, i have loosened it as far as it will go but its still tight.

my otherhalf has said next time we see the girl just to take it off and bin it (make it look like it fell off) do you agree?
