whats the plan long term michelle ?

Funny enough me and Hubby were just talking about that !

Right, i am going to get him neutered and see if he stays about (or butter off home after, like the ginger cat did lol)
If he stays here he is more than welcome to move in with us but i would then get him FIV tested.

Well done Michelle   I'm sure your vet won't mind keeping him in the night before but you have also got the problem of keeping him overnight to recover from surgery  :-:  I would explain to the vet that you've got nowhere to keep him before or after recuperation and is it possible that he can stay in 2 nights, it shouldn't be a problem unless all the cages are full.  Good luck, xxx

Would your local cpl or similar not be able to help out ?

To be honest that may be difficult as if a rescue had any room that would be used to take a cat of the list of cats waiting to come in.

If you had a shed or garage that might be a better solution, of course some might argue this is very cruel !

I think anyone who thought that would not know the implications of  an unneutered cat. Keeping contained for a short while is a means to a better life for the cats.

Where i used to work we charged a fee of 4.95 or there abouts for keeping the night before and in that circumstance would probably have charged the same the night post op too.

I might see if vets would keep him in the night before and the night after the Op

I am sure they will, our vet always lets people take them in the night before if there are any problems and will also keep them the night after.

wouldnt they charge more for that Ela ?????????

Well i have won round the stray cat in my garden
Not only can i stroke him now but i can pick him up and he also comes indoors walks around helps himself to food and then sits down in lounge !!!!!!!!!!!!

So now to get him neutered -
Problem i have is that i cant keep him indoors over night before the Op (my lot not over keen on him) but how do i make sure he doesnt eat over night ?

I might see if vets would keep him in the night before and the night after the Op
