Not sure how you do a poll but I know I seen it some where grrrrrrrrrrrrr
-
hmmmmm I wanted to vote for two so trying a new post and see if it lets me.
-
Right I think you can have 3 votes now but I still only been able to do one grrrrrrrrrrrr
-
hope that you can vote now :) You should get up to 3 votes but you may have to do em all at once
-
I voted for all colours because as soon as I say I have a particular fondness for one colour I start thinking of other colours I also like and it ends up with me reeling off every colour possible as my favourite.? I am a bit partial to gingers though, as Jaffa and Mosi are both gingers, plus black and white as Magpie was black and white.? If I was forced to pick one colour as a favourite it would be ginger.? Strangely, I wasn't overkeen on gingers before I got Jaffa!? I think he's the reason I love them now.
-
did that log the votes properly ??
.
cant believe i was the only one that had black as a fave given a couple of recent threads in cc .
black and ginger were my obvious ones then i realised ive actually always admired blue cats too so that was my 3rd vote.
(no one tell fraser tho LOL)
-
I love white with ginger. well white with a little bit of other colour
Peanut wasn't my first choice initially but I love him to bits now and am unlikely to prefer another colour now.
I saw the most gorgeous long hair light ginger cat on a window cill yesterday. Made a big fuss of him and then got my phone camera out . Just as I was about to take a picture the owner opened the window and he shot inside !..... I think she thought Iwas going to pinch him lol
-
Polls only just started so I am sure the black will get votes and mustnt tell sasa either although she has ginger her in her I didnt vote for either white or tortie.
Wanted to limit the votes to get a better picture bot it doesnt cover seal points like my birmans grrrrrrrrr.
-
Yep - my all time fave are blacks but my current faves are goldens (not reds , completely different colour)
But - if we listed all the colour options the poll would be HUGE!! :o ;D
-
We have all those colours so its not fair so hit all - what happened to white only - I don't have any of those
-
White only is there and others means all the colours that cats can come in ..................even spots and marbles :)
Please to see black has a vote now , in fact all of them have phewwwwwwwwwwwww :)
-
My favourites but dont tell the other 31!!!!!!
-
Have to say its gingers black and whites and blacks for me, im hoping to home a gorgeous black girl from Drifters Reach ive seen on their website, just waiting for them to get back to me, so keep your fingers crossed for me peeps! :)
-
I have to say that Black and white puds get my vote generally, then tabbies and greys or grey totries ..my zookie baby was a grey Tortie and gorgeous little kit she was :)
-
Brindle and Tortie always seem to steal my heart but in all honesty I love them all and couldn't care if one was gingerpink with blue spots on.
-
I love black and white cats and black and ginger....... well all the colours really, but could only vote for three lol! ?;D
Not so keen on Tabbies for some reason, but i wouldn't say no if one came my way :)
-
I voted blue/grey, black and tortie. I think..
Though my favourite is black...
-
"gingerpink with blue spots on." That would be some cat! ;)
-
Our first cat was black and white, and I did love her - she was so sweet. But then my last two have both been ginger and white - and gorgeous. Although I say ginger and white - Flynn was a strange sort of pinkish-beige and white. Don't know if there's a proper name for that or not - I've seen two other cats that colour, but that's all. Just Mogs bless 'em, but striking. And in our street we have a very handsome sleek little black number called Axle ('cos he's always checking out the cars - Mmm, nice BMW - hey, whose is that Honda? Say, classy little Chrysler you got there mate!)
:D
-
Wow this is a close poll......ginger just leading B&W :)
-
Tabbies, Torties and Gingers for me x
-
We've had: ginger tabby [Marmalade] tabby and white [Tinkerbell] all tabby [Tigerlily] mainly white with black patches [Ollie] black [Nero] ginger tabby and white [Harvey] dark tortie [Molly] and black and white [Maisey]. I don't think I have a particular favorite when it comes to colour, although having a light coloured cat and a black sofa and a black coloured cat and cream curtains was a bit of a pain lol. We've had cats of all different shapes, colours and sizes and they've all been darlings in their own way lol :D
-
Such a hard choice - I adore black cats, they are so sleek!! And I love my gingers, and tabbies, and pure whites!! I would never choose to own a tortie though, although I know there are peeps on here who have lovely torties, but I have only met one nice tortie out of the 4 that I have personally met, but if one needed a home, I woudln't say no!!
-
Had to vote black due to Tom and Billy but might sneak in a tabbie vote too if no one minds in memory of Aslan the most beautiful cat EVER
-
Aawww won't let me cheat?!
-
??? Where's the button for Brown cats!!! I have two Brown cats and they are my favourite.
-
OK there is brown LOL
-
No Rosella LOL
-
Yay ... Go the browns! LOL
Thanks Gill
-
Well ginger and B&W still ahead which is what I suspected :)
-
Tabbies are my first love but torties come a close second. Having said that I love them all of course!
-
I voted tabbies, black and blue/grey, but tabbies are my absolute favourite hands down :)
-
oooh, exciting int it!?!?!?!!?!?
i voted black (jasper), black and white (suzie) and blue/grey (ok.... no names for this one, but think they're mighty cute and maybe one day....)
have to confess i'm kinda shocked by ginger winning. but then loads of people have them on here dont they. and all the photos are stunning!! oh dear - hope i dont get things thrown at me for saying i'm shocked!!! just never knew gingers were so popular before meeting loads of peeps here. never known many of them myself, just the one in fact....
ok, i'm rambling. my project is getting to me today, i'm sorry!! :-*
-
Hanna your rambling hun hee hee hee ;D
but very nice your ramblings are lol ;)
-
I've edited my vote to be a bit more decisive!
-
why thank you ?;D
hehe, you made me laugh - thank you - i need that today!!!!!!
-
Surprised Tabbies not more popular. (Nearest I could vote to my bengals :))
-
;D ;D ;D
me no suprised by gingers ;D ;D ;D
-
I am quite surprise by the results so far as when we get calls for cats everyone and their grandmas it seems, if given a choice would ask for grey.
-
perhaps we should have another poll re what colour cats people actually have.? Then we can see whether people actually have the colour they said was their favourite!
-
No Hannah ow on earth can you be shocked by Gingers winning?????....
"Red" One of our neighbours (no relation to Cody!)? Hands off Lynn I'm guarding him... :P
[attachment deleted by admin]
-
Whoops meant to post this one of Red
-
Solid blacks and black mackeral or blotched tabbies are my fave but I like all colours except red / red and white.
-
aaah, that is really cute. want to tickle the tummy!!!!!!!!
-
I really expected ginger to be in lead but thought that blue would challenge, and also B&W, now why did I say that lol........................musta voted like that ;) ;)
oooooooooooooo just noticed these?
-
rosella have you posted pics of red before, im sure ive seen him or one very similar..
how far away from me are you ?? got a fair bit of petrol in car ready to do some cat napping LOL
mind you i get less that 20 mpg so may not get very far (yep i got a gas guzzler but its fun to drive !)
-
Yup I treated everyone to pics of our neighbours when their ma & pa where away in Florida in August. Sorry to say we live in North Pole and no petrol stations North of John 'o Groats so you'd have a job filling up your tank and won't get far at 20mpg. Never mind Lynn.... phew that was a close one :evillaugh:
-
More votes please
-
rosella with my car i need a contract with shell so a tanker runs behind me...be on your toes i may appear yet !!!
-
Oh, such a poll is unfair although I 'disloyally' voted tortie, just 'cos they're so pretty.? But in all honesty, it is unimportant because it does not take into account that 'special something' that makes certain cats stand out as 'the one' for you.
Most of my cats are rescue and came into my life unexpectedly but when I see the vote for brown cats so low, I think of the bengal which is usually brown spotted and.........er.........well, they are spectacular.
-
It has to be Tabbies. but I love ALL kitties.
-
Im glad you get 3 choices as I have 3 cats.....Lol
Wouldnt like to have more coz how would you decide ;)
-
I think of the bengal which is usually brown spotted and.........er.........well, they are spectacular.
But spotted is just a type of tabby so they are just tabbies. Bilbo is a black mackeral tabby but doesn't look black as other than his black markings the rest of him is light brownish as it is in all brown/black tabbies (if he didn't have white feet the fur on the base of his feet would be black though).
Only proper brown cat I can think of is the Havana brown and I think Burmeses are brown although I could be wrong.
Talking of Bengals does anyone know why they call one coat pattern 'marble' when in every other breed its called blotched or classic tabby?? Do they just like to be different lol?
-
Having had tortoiseshells and whites in the past, with a black one, ginger one and a tabby now, I just can't decide! Who cares, they're all great?! I used to think sphinxes were repulsive until I met one! Personality matters more than colour.
-
ive never met a real life sphynx but i think they are lovely, only their tails i'd take abit of getting used to.
-
Hey Lottie, I too think of the tabbies as being closest to bengals (hence I voted them no1 faves). ?Not sure about marble (which Lenny is). ?I did hear him described as a clouded leopard once though by his breeder. ?I shall try to find out (could be just want to be different!)
-
Good heavens Gingers have stormed into the lead :sneaky:
-
Isnt is strange that the second and third most popular are b/w and black when they are usually the ones overlooked in rescues and shelters
:Luv: sonya
loving these new emoticons by the way :wow:
-
mmm - must be that we are not representative of the general population (but then I always knew that? :))
-
So far poll is going how I expected cos so many have B&W and gingers but surprised about the blues, thought they may be top....................felt sorry that I couldnt add my tortie but I needed to limit the poll to three votes, started it with one
Brown was added a bit later cos I didnt think of brown, sorry.
-
Yeah , thats true Gill
I have a ging and a b/w and hopefully a black by tuesday. But I love the blues as well lol
:Luv:
-
but clouded leopard is an actual wild breed ???

i was just gonna say i cant think of any pure chocolates apart from havannas either only then i remembered a chocolate laperm called marcel has just gone to ireland !
-
i knew an all brown cat. cant remember what make he was though....
ummm..... ok, the girl was a red point siamese and the boy was a.......... have a feeling there was an ese in there somewhere!!! oh i cant remember - useless post there really!!! sorry!!!!!
-
burmese i think!!!!!!!
-
hannah if it looked siamesey and all chocolate then it was probably a havana.
or not LOL
-
hehe. i think i got there in the end!!! course burmese are mentioned lower down so i wasnt exactly enlightening the situation!!!
hehe. i try!!!!!!
-

Bilbo's dad's markings are identical to Lenny's and he's a black classic tabby (also called blotched tabby) and Bilbo's auntie is a tortie spotted tabby ?;D
-
No, in reply to the question about the 'marble' coat pattern of the bengal, the Cat Fancy are not just trying to be different, there is no other pattern in the domestic cat world like the marbling on a bengal.? It is truly unique.?
-
thanks for that roz, i thought it was quite different to classic tabby markings and does take on more of a "marbling" effect (funnily enough )
-
Yip - just spoke to Nova's breeder and she confirmed as per Roz. Lenny does have some fantastic markings on him, particularly down his spine (almost a cross type thing running from the top of his shoulders down - shall try to photograph but not easy!) I can see the similarity of the bengal (overall) to the tabby though.

Here my marbel boy Zubin in the garden.
-
Hey Gail - Zubin is truly handsome. My fave pics of Lenny (he's around 4 months in this one)
-
Blimey he has HUGE feet. Zubin will be 3 in Feb.
-
cor Gail , Zubin looks huge or is it just the way the photos been taken,,totally gorgeous by the way ;)
-
No he is a big cat, Workmen who come to the house comment on how big he is. But he is REAL Mummy's boy., and I love it.
-
Hey Gail, yes Lenny has enormous feet (even now at 8 months) - he is going to be a 'very big' boy (LOL). Interestingly Lenny is also a bit of a mummy's boy but likes nothing better than a good scrap with his brothers (he's a wee bully!)
-
I'm loving Lenny though, I just want to tickle his tummy.
-
its all lies gail, dont listen to the evil linda ?:swearin: :nono:
she always says bad things about poor wittle lenny !!
-
I'm loving Lenny though, I just want to tickle his tummy.
You want a tum to tickle? how about this one. :)

Ahh right ok just Bilbo's dad's markings are the same as Lenny's (just obviously a longer coat) which is why I was wondering.
-
Beautiful picture Gail - is this Zak? If so he really does remind me of Lubo in that pic (very similar coat and colouring)
-
I love Bengals spotty tummies ;D
-

No that's Zubin.
This is Zaki Pooh

OOMMMGGGGGGGGGGGG What a stunning beauty!
-
What a great picture :)
-
Oooooooooooooo there all gorgeous....I love Bengals...think I will have to be very nice to OH ive just decided what I want for Xmas
-
I have to admit to preferring spotted Bengals over marbled, and I think I prefer the snow's to the browns. I actually only have one of the 3 colours I picked as my favourite - I might own a black and white but they aren't my favourite colour!! I would love to own a blue though.
-
Once i'm a full member i will post some pics, but for now i'll just say my favourite is black and white, only cos my first furbabe was black and white and he was gorgeous, now i have a tabby, which is coming close to my fave now ;D
-
yep blue cats are fab
however lots of owners who have em need to be abit more original when choosing a name
you wouldnt believe (actually you prob would) how many smokeys i have met LOL
-
At the last big TICA show someone had Blue Bengals..............Not seen them in the skin myself. You also now get what they are call golden spotted!!! Silvers are cool too.
-
oh never heard of a blue one linda !
have to say i'd love a snow marble myself but they are quite sought after i think so harder to get.
did you see any at gayzette, i'm sure they had some snows.
-
Yeah - snows and silvers are becoming easier to get, certainly south of the border. still not many here. If I rember correctly purebliss bengals was the name of the cattery with the blues and the golden spotted.
-
Try this Lynn and scroll down to the bottom..............
http://www.pureblissbengals.co.uk/index.html
-
just had a look, impressive place they have but i think i'd still go for a snow or silver, i did however forget to say on my previous post that it was a blue eyes snow i'd fancy.
(of course now that there is a resident laperm it wont become reality LOL)
-
Nova's sire is a fantastic silver boy - he is a canadian import (silver spotted) and has the most fantastic pelt ever!!! His silver male kittens are taking TICA by storm just now. Nova can only be registered and shown at TICA as a result (GCCF only recognise brown marble and spotted bengals for now but its likely to change with more colours becoming very popular)
-
ACtually, I think I prefer silvers to snow's. Some of those are stunning, and I do prefer them over the blues.
-
i didnt realise gccf only recognise the browns.
-
I'm loving Lenny though, I just want to tickle his tummy.
You want a tum to tickle? how about this one. :)
oooh! they are both so gorgeous :Luv:
hang on a min..... :sneaky:
Nope, a lucky escape, Missy Fearne says I can't come and catnap those two as she likes being an only cat :P
-
I vote black! ;)
-
Linda , is that the breeder you bought your boys and Nova from? Wow they are stunning cats on that site, im loving the silver ones :Luv:
-
Hi Sonya, no this is not the breeder my boys came from - I heard about this one through a contact who frequents the TICA cat shows. The boys breeder is a dear friend of mine who only has 2 queens. Nova will be coming from the famous (well up here anyway) Gayzette.
Some of the bengals on the breeders pages on the web are stunning though :)
