Ok, so I'm getting a kitten... ;D
I'm not buying a load of toys as I have lots already - lots of small mice and balls to bat around, flying frenzy, cat trees, cat cube, cat tent (still have my ikea cat tunnel - remember them?!), laser, a rather tatty cat activity centre from Mosi's kittenhood, cardboard boxes galore...
However - I have to get him a few new things of his own don't I? So what is the latest toy that all the cool kittens have?
-
not sure if willow counts as a kitten as she is now 3 but she loves this

it was also a great favourite of the late great amber, who as you know can do no wrong!
-
Thats just what I need for Misa cos he cant use upright ones ;D
-
Got the smaller one of these for the hoolies when they were kittens and they love it. ;D

Boblets favourite is a round toy with two channels with balls in. The outer one is open so the ball can be batted around from wherever, the inner is enclosed with three paw holes to bat that ball around and it has a mouse on a spring on the top. I don't know what it is called as it came with Cassie, so it has been ignored for years apart from a few desultory plays from Emo, but Boblet goes nuts with it.
It may ring bells with someone who knows what it is called

Yes the catit circuit is always a big hit!
Plastic bowls apparently are very popular too - not joking! :evillaugh:
-
Annoyingly I used to have a catit senses but threw it out when Jaffa peed on it :shify:
-
I'd highly recommend a bit of paper scrunched up in a ball ;) and a paper carrier bag with handles cut.
I assume you have the red dot :innocent: which I imagine would encourage Mosi to play with his new pal?
If you feel the need to spend dosh of course there is always Garfield ........

I love the way the other cat completely ignores it :evillaugh:. I love Garfield, I even have the slippers. Don't have room for another kitty toy though.
-
That's cool ;D ;D ;D where do you get those?
-

Haven't used ours for years. The ribbon/furry balls needed replacing frequently (Groucho chewed everything) and, as Paula pointed out, it wasn't a hit with the whole tribe ;) I think I bought it when the girls were babies. I might unearth it from wherever it is languishing if I can be bothered :tired: as I think Boris might have a bit of fun with it altho I think i may have run out of the attachments.

Susanne, shame on you. I thought you would've known which toy to get for Dec .............................................................................. MOSI of course :evillaugh: ;) :Luv2:

Mine love the catit circuit. Rolled up balls of foil and paper where their favourite when kittens. Da bird and the stinky valerian, honeysuckle and cat nip toy like the prawn they sell in Purrs shop. Paper bags as someone else said without their handles as one of mine got a bit stuck in the handles and panicked, it's very difficult to catch a kitten in full flight with a bag around their neck. Mine loved the small cardboard cartons you get tomatoes in. They are just the right size for a kitten to sit in.

I collect feathers off the pavement and grass put them in a bag and freeze them for a few days to kill and bugs on them. Astro and Zoonie love them ;D also carrier bags, under supervision of course. Don't want to suffocate the little darlings, do we :naughty:
Scrunched up foil is a good one
And they are free ;D ;D
-
Never heard that one before - do you defrost them and sprinkle a few of them in front of them to jump up at or what?

Hopefully Mosi will prove to be the best toy! His current best buddy is a blue Somali called Griselda who is a couple of months older than him. He will probably miss her.
Drinking straws are supposed to be popular - either as they are or tied in knots - but I keep forgetting to pick up a couple when I'm out as I never drink soft drinks so don't think to pick up a straw.
Garfield is fab ;D

Just bought one of these

Not quite the same as Garfield but same idea.
I'm kicking myself for not buying this too

I have one that I've had since Jaffa was a kitten but it's another thing he peed on when he had cystitis. It has been cleaned but after 17 years I think it could be retired and a new one bought. Right up to the end Jaffa would go over to it and give the ball a push with his paw or swipe the spring which did have a pom pom on it at the start but has only had a few tufts for at least the last 10 years ;D

Shouldn't think your young lad will realise it's not Garfield Susanne and suspect the feather attachment will stand a good chance of Mosi Lad joining in too. Looks a fab toy :)
You'll have to let Tan know if it's any good as she may think of stocking it.

Thanks Rosella. They don't have it on Amazon.co.uk either
-
Rosella, I'm pretty sure I got one like that from Tan last year. It's hardly been used cos I can't find anywhere it will stick that is appropriate - think I might try fixing it to a bit of wood and standing it up...

We've just (this month) included a great toy for kittens, we all know they love balls but they REALLY love balls made from sheeps wool and covered in Angora!
