Thank you very much you are all so kind.  ;D

Franta doesnt like nice food or treats  :( just plain old felix in jelly pouches!

I will ceratinly keep and eye on him and no I dont think he can reach it cos its on the spine just below the base of the neck, he would need to be a contortionist I think  ;D

At the moment it is just the two puncture wounds and it looks fine, he had been bitten sideways along the spine the evil little  :censored:

The jab he had is one of those two week jobbies, the new one. I said to Richard I had heard they were not too good but he said they are if used for the right things and they were no good on say mouth infections. At least no trying and failing with pills and having to another 40 miles cos i am nearly out of petrol now  8)

So glad that you caught it before the abcess, I hope you have now bribed Franta and his siblings with something really tasty and you should have bread and water for tea so the treat can be really good!

Ours are on for Honey roast chicken tonight and all are currently massing downstairs even dear Bert who we usually put his tuff on a saucer and take to him is lying on the cat room bed waiting till he hears the fridge bleep then he can amble on in for some!

Really pleased Gill and hope the abscess doesn't develop. I'm sure you'll keep an eye on it. Hopefully it is not possible for him to reach it to scratch it as that's why Billy's abscess wouldn't heal last year.  What's he got for a treat then?  Don't forget to treat yourself to something too to soothe your poor head.

I am back with a sore head from non-stop meowing all the way there

Turns out Franta had been in a fight and he had two puncture marks in the centre of his back so had been bitten. Vet thinks that it was starting the process to become an abcess and thats why he was down................also reckon his manhood was upset as it was likely ginger Jess who is a nasty female up the road, However the injury was still clean and looking fine and he has been given a long lasting anti biotic jab and Richard thinks he will not need any more treatment but to ring him and let him know how Franta is.

Franta also has a sore back cos he has strained a muscle, prob from the fight.

His weight is absolutely fine and only 2 ozs diferent from his health check in the Summer and apparently he is just moulting.

Yesterday my neighbour asked if i knew if there had been a cat fight during the night cos she found light coloured fur all over her path, well now we know yes and Franta was involved.

Anyway good thing I took him cos over the weekend the bite probably would have become nasty abcess.

Thanks everyonne for your concern and nice thoughts.

Hopefully my little gentleman will stay away from madam jess cos she is not the one for him, hes just far to gentle  ;D

The bloods would be dont at the practice i would guess. Unless he also wanted to do thyroid ones which they sometimes send away..I'd mention you havent been 100% happy for a wee while now.

If he needs a dental etc if you think its his mouth then again due to age i imagine bloods (full bloods) would be a good idea before any ga etc (think of marks clapton)

hope you got that in time....dont worry

I am gonna wait and see what Richard says and recommends cos he is very good. I suspect it maybe mouth oriented and if so then he will want to do that any way cos of frantas age.

Lynn if u can reply real quick cos I about log off..........what bloods would need doing and where would results need to come from?

Good luck with the visit Gill I'm sure franta will love you after he has been wrestled in to a box, had his sleep disturbed had a nice car journey, had the vet pokoing and prodding, returned to box, return journey home!

Instead of twiddling thumbs suggest one is now working on the major bribe this will need to placate the wee darling!

Good luck with the visit we did 5 nice and 1 nasty for boosters and programme the lot in 20 mins even our vet is amazed at the speed we can shunt them through - we got parcels from bith ends for our sins! :innocent:
