I am definitely seeing the funny side of this, but my little monster is really not helping me

Might have to ring the vets in the morning to see if they have any better ideas  :shy:

Max is being a little butter  :evillaugh:  He still won't use that litter, he was moaning so figured he needed a poo again, so put the other tray down with his normal litter with the intention of moving it again straight away ............. well my darling boy did a poo and a wee in one sitting lol, so I'm still no closer to getting this sample

Why do I feel like he's playing games with me  :sneaky:

Amber wouldn't use that litter, she refused to pee for a full 24 hours in the end I followed her around the garden with a tea cup and didn't have to wait long!

Not sure, but worth a go if I don't get anywhere tonight I reckon.  Trouble is, his litter tray is on the ground floor of a 3 storey house, so I'm going to have to stay on my toes and follow him every time he goes downstairs to see what he's up to  :evillaugh:  What our little monsters have us doing eh  :evillaugh:

Thanks Mark I hope so  :)

Well, the little monkey refused point blank to use the funny crystal litter they gave me......I tried a different tray as I'd only just refilled his usual tray and didn't want to waste a whole trayful, but my little monster just sat next to it shouting at me as he needed a poo and wanted his normal litter  :evillaugh:

I gave up last night, but will try again with the crystals in his normal tray, but as they don't even cover the bottom, I think I'm gonna struggle.

If I don't get one tonight I'll call the vets in the morning to see what they can suggest, or as you suggested Desley, maybe try another bag of the litter to make sure it actually covers the bottom of the tray.

Why did I just know this wasn't gonna be easy

Lets hope it's all OK. MY new vet said vet trips can cause readings to be off due to stress etc.

Good luck for him using teh special litter - I know CS said she used two bags, and they were happy to use it. Tom however, preferred to jump on hte sofa where the normal tray was, or to sit in the bathroom for 5 hours and do absolutely nothing!!

Your vet can (or should be able to) supply litter that is specially designed for collecting samples - feels like the real thing but is sterile and allows the sample to accumulate in the tray.

Nice one Licia, I'm certain that will be cheering Clare up  :naughty: :Luv2:- she probably is doing something on those lines - I would have to be doing a lot of talkiing to get Bonnie to give me a sample - she won't even use her tray if I'm looking at her.

So, for someone who has never had the privilege of getting a cat's pee sample - how the chuff do you do it!!??  :evillaugh:  :Luv2:

I was thinking the same thing... is it like

Clare: Well, Maxy boy, could you please wee just a wee bit into this little cup?  I mean not too much just a little of it, and you can relieve yourself into the tray as usual for the rest.

Max: Why is it that complicated just to take a wee?  Anyway I don't feel like it now.

Clare: The doc must test your wee to make sure you don't have a problem.  Perhaps you can have a little sip of water?

Max: No I am not thirsty right now, I feel fine anyway I don't need a doc sniffing at my wee and stuff.

Clare:  Oh hunny please, I want to make sure you are healthy, I will give you some bit of tuna if you can do that for me...

Max: Hmm, tuna?  Maybe a few prawns on top?

Clare:  Sure darling, prawns too!!

Max:  Awlright I shall let you know when I feel like going, whenever that is.

Clare: Oh thank you darling, you are the best!!

??? :shify: :innocent:

In any case I hope Max will be A-okay!!

Well, bloods have shown a reading 'higher end of normal' on thyroid and kidney, so I've got a kit to get a wee sample and take it in tomorrow.

Trying not to get all worried and paranoid now  :shy:

Hi hun,

Well done on the visit to the vets, I'm really pleased to hear the Maxy is doing so well. Frankie and Alfie are both drinking more since I started therm off on the Plaque Off, I guess that's how it's supposed to work, the other reason might just be that I'm leaving the water for 24 hours between re-fills so that the Chlorine gets evaporated and it might just taste better for them. The good thing is that they all have a lot fresher breath now. Hope the blood tests come out all clear. I've been working on the film all hours so I haven't been aroud that much.

Cheers hun and a big hug to Maxy

Would have been for the blood sample clare, taken from the jugular vein.  Just one needle though but blood then used for the different tests.

Cheers  ;D

Just noticed he's got a little shaved bit under his chin, would this have been for the blood test, or a specifc thyroid test?  The invoices says Blood Profile D and then Idexx T4, which doesn't mean much to me if I'm honest  :shy:
