Title: Cat has busted my laptop
Post by: LesleyW on October 30, 2007, 10:34:25 AM
Unfortunately I won't be able to get on the site as much over the next few weeks as Hershe, my little old girl who is waiting for a new home, decided to pee on my laptop and it has officially blown up

Will try to get on as much as I can at work, but OH keeps a close eye on me .

:evillaugh: We'll miss you Lesley!  How dare you leave a laptop in the place where cats pee. Really!  :evillaugh:

Oops  :-:

Is it covered with "accidental damage"?

I don't think so.  It's my fault, I had located Hershe to the study as she really doesn't like the other cats, but she does not seem too keen on the litter tray either  >:(

She has had to go back in the cat room at the moment but as that stresses her and Stella out so much, I am going to try to re-locate her downstairs with the resident cats but at least then she can have access to outside.  I think that is what she really wants as she was found as a stray roaming around an industrial estate.  I took her in under the description of "Kitten" but as soon as I saw her I knew she was at least 10 years old and this was confirmed by my Vet :-:.

So I will be badgering hubby to let me have a new laptap now, I am already looking around for one.

I see some pet insurance covers damage.

I looked at Axa and it only covers damage to other people's property. This ones covers other people's and your own property. http://www.swiftcover.com/petinsurance/cover/

I guess different insurers have different rules?

Contents insurance doesn't normally cover accidental damage caused by pets, it does however cover accidental damage caused by any other means  ;)

Oh Lesley, that's my worst nightmare! I watch my four like hawks when they're round the laptop.

I tried to claim a new sofa cos the cats have torn a hole in mine, but my house insurance doesn't cover damage by pets. I don't think it's fair really.

Good luck on getting a new one soon!
