Hi  i have to give mary 2 antibiotic pills a day they can be crushed in food which i have done and left down

problem shes not eating enough for me to get the tablets into her !

Have you tried Defurrum treats? They can be broken open and the pill stuffed in the goo inside. Many cats love 'em - I know mine do!

Your lucky Lottie, synulox 'palatable' and none of my normal cats will eat them, only Taz.
I dont think a pill gun would be much use in this case as BC cant handle Mary.

What is she being treated for? Theres a long acting AB available it only helps for some things and its debatable as to how effective it is. Its called Convenia if you wish to ask your vet about it.

Only other thing i can think of is to get a tin of puree food form your vet called a/d and crush the tablet really finely into a tiny blob and syringe it in her mouth/smear over her leg. It will mean you need to catch her but needs must.

I was going to suggest that same as Gill, either dairlylea or wrap the tablet in some smelly cheese or something, that's what I have to do with Max if he has tablets  ;)  Sometimes a cunning disguise is very useful  :evillaugh:

The trouble you are having is normal cos they never will eat the food cos they can smell the tablets and if she wasnt eating much before this will put her off completely.

Why cant vets understand the problems with scared and timid cats and also the probs some of us have with trying to give pills grrrrrrrr.

Have you tried the blob of dairy lee cheese?

See if she will eat a blob without anything in first.

How big are the tablets?

You can buy pill 'guns' at Pets at Home and places to get pills into cats. I don't know if they work or not but I'm sure someone will be able to advise you if they are worth a try or not.

There are antibiotics that are palatable and look a bit like treats as Bilbo had them last year and he loved them!
