I have four cats and a one bedroom flat.  It is a small territory but a felliway diffuser helps.  We all live in harmony here - even phoebe.  I do have a garden which i want to cat proof soon.
i too have four in a flat i know what you mean about room for the cat trees they take up so much room but needs must.
glad patch has settled in well, we also have a patch

Yes, the only problem is fitting in all the cat trees!

how's the intro going Zoe?

Well patch (newbie) WAS shut in a room on her own but she decided that its quite easy to jump up the door handle and the door will open...

I still try and keep her in a seperate rom but its not very easy, They will all eat in the same room now which they do in the morning before i go to work, Pipin and tiggy are still slightly hissy with her but arent scared of her anymore, Tiggy and patch were rubbing noses earlier and they wil all stay in the same room without ant hissing or fighting. Pippin gets anooyed if shes on my lap and patch tries to get on theretoo.

I think its great really bcoz she has only been here just over a week!

A one bedroomed flat is quite a small territory for three cats (I live in one as well!) and so it will take some time, but in 99% of cases, we find that new cats are eventually accepted. I would slowly introduce feeding time together. Start off feeding them at different ends of a room and once they can do that, move the bowls bit by bit every day until they can eat together (eating together is a cat socialble thing to do and so should create bonds beween them).

You also need to integrate their scents by swapping bedding around. You could also try a Feliway plug in diffuser which should help calm the cats down.

Good luck!

that's the thing, they might be scared, there is a stranger on the sofa!  if she is in a room they will get used to her smell and she won't be such a stranger anymore, there is a thing on intros here

Ok its very hard to keep her in a room on her own as she doesnt stop meowing, well she does but thats coz she ends up loosing her voice  :-:

they arent fighting with her just seem very scared of her its really upsetting me seeing tiggy and pippin the way they are

Advice needed... new cat
« Reply #1 on: April 21, 2008, 16:34:25 PM »
Hi again everyone, Sorry im not abpout much but still no internet.

On saturday out of thr blue we got another cat lol Anyway she is 9 months old, slightly younger than tiggy and pipin, She is so placide and loving, Tiggy and pipin keep hissing at her and have spent most of the last couple of days in my bedroom (by choice they can get out if they want) they werent eating but i have now moved there food and water into my bedroom and they are eating fine, but havent been to the toilet properly, Should i be worried? Ive asked some of my mates and they say im just a worry guts (there right probably  :shy: )

How long do you think it will take for everything to settle down? She came from a friend and she said if things don't settle down she will have her back but im in love with her already and don't want her to go but it also really upsets me to see pipin and tiggy upset  :shy:

Any advice much appreciated x
