Been contacted by a young lady on Facebook about a cat she and her family have been feeding but are unable to really do any more for (cat, dog and three adults in a small flat) but are desperate to help.
They've named her Jenny. Jenny is a lovely looking girl and they've managed to make her less nervous. A microchip is on it's way from The Feral and Stray Foundation, and the vets close to her are doing an approved free spay. BUT Jenny needs somewhere to go after the op. She also has a wound to her face that keeps getting infected and making her face swell which needs treating.
If anyone can help, please let me know. This girl just needs a chance.

JS, she's lovely. :Luv2:
I can't take her right now as we're off on holiday in three weeks time, and our regular sitter wouldn't be able to cope with the pressure of another newbie, but I will have a foster place free here when we get back after 6th April, if that's of any use?
She'll need to be kept in after her spay, and she's at risk of pregnancy now so not really an option to leave her outside... would another rescuer be able to look after her for a month following her spay until I get back, perhaps?
At least this way she's guaranteed to have a warm safe placement until we find her a forever family (I know a couple of people who will be looking to adopt in the Spring, she may just get lucky quickly).
Let me know if I can help. I'm in east london and have transport.

Shonagh, I'm PM'ing you about this one, I think I may be able to help her sooner than originally thought. :sneaky:

Just the called the vet.
She's fine, she was newly pregnant but has had her spay :( , first vaccination and microchip fitted.
Off to fetch her now. Once she's decided I'm not just some horrible kidnapper who takes cats to have knives and sharp needles stuck in them every time she first meets them, I'm sure she'll be come around. :-[ :innocent:

well done all concerned for saving poor jenny from being a mum on the streets

Jen (I like this better) is home, for good.
Vet nurse showed me the thorn :scared: which was apparently shot out at great speed followed by a hot stream of goo  She must feel so much better. :phew:
She's in the front room now, still in her (open) basket but awake and alert, Polly and Beau - my two peacemakers - are in here too, both of the latter are fast asleep. :Luv:
Good start for her, but what a big day for her. What a day. Brave little girl. :tired:

Just before Janey moves this thread and locks it, a quick update ;D
Jen popped out from behind the telly, wandered around for a bit then found a webbox stick. She's been at warp speed ever since, has eaten, played with toys, made friends with my OH and even offered him her tummy to tickle. Her scar is on her underbelly, and looks really neat and tidy. The swelling on her face has gone completely so she has her pretty eyes back. :Luv:
I think she's going to be quite a handful, it's a while since we had a turbo charged cat in the place, she's sure gonna liven things up around here. :evillaugh: :evillaugh:
I can't get a decent photo of her she's just too wriggly, but I'll open another thread for her as soon as I get a good pic that does her justice. :pic: :print:
Thanks to all involved, she's worth it.
EDIT: photos, not great, but here she is snuggling wiv her new Dad and immediately after her webbox stick in "go faster" mode.
