Title: SAM
Post by: Ela on November 21, 2006, 18:28:00 PM
I am posting here as well as the Rainbow Bridge just in case you don't all visit there,  to let you all know that Sam of Frodo and Sam fame was gently PTS today. Sadly he was found to have liver cancer and it was very severe and the vet advised that he must have been unwell for some time. There was no choice but for the new owner to make the decision for the final act of kindness. I am just so pleased that his last few weeks were spent as a much loved pet and not in a pen.

This was Sam & Frodo who's owner was emigrating and wasn't taking the cats with him, I was so pleased when they found a new home so quickly.  RIP Sam, poor Frodo and how awful for his new Mum or Dad to lose him so soon  :'(

Well when he arrived it was very difficult to get him to eat, I e-mailed his former owner before he went to Canada and asked what the fav food was, he did mention that food was a problem. The vet seems to think it was a long standing problem. As you know cats are very good at hiding certain illnesses until the last minute. At least his former owner went away from the UK happy, and indeed Frodo and Sam have enjoyed the short time they have been here. Hopefully Frodo will continue to enjoy a few more years yet.

Awww, what a tragedy. Sam was lucky though... she went from love to love with no gaps, she had the best life a cat could hope for.

Frodo will continue to get loads of TLC and a new friend soon I think. Not to replace Sam you understand  as you can never replace, but at least her passing has made way for another little one to be homed and another one can be taken into care in that ones place.
