Please can anyone help two 10-year-old cats who were taken to a vets practice in Coventry to be put to sleep. They desperately need somewhere to go by Friday, 6th July or the vet will have no alternative (currently all rescues in the Coventry area are full - including Coventry Cat Group, who brought their plight to my attention). They are both black: one long-haired male (neutered) and one short-haired female (not neutered - but there are funds to cover cost). Transport could possibly be arranged to other areas.
-
I've put them at the top of our homing page
http://www.coventrycatgroup.org.uk/adoption/cats-for-adoption/
sorry can't do much more.
-
:( Poor puds hope someone can help.
-
I've phoned up the local radio but unfortunately, unless they are carring a torch, they don't want to know this weekend >:(. Receptionist told me to try on tuesday. :angry phone:
-
Poor things, really hope they can be saved :shy:
You could ask Kelly-Joy to post them on the Animal Lifeline forum, they seem to work miracles with finding rescue spaces and arranging transport runs.
-
An unspayed 10 year old??????? Poor girl. Hope they both find a home.
-
Poor things.
I hope they find safety soon. If anyone reading can take them, it's a lovely feeling to adopt an older cat - I just adopted a 20-something!
http://rescueaidforanimals.co.uk/ (http://rescueaidforanimals.co.uk/) might be able to help too.
-
Poor babes - everything is crossed for these sweethearts. My Thai is 10 - she's still a kitten to me, 10 isnt old.
-
I have heard that Animal Lifeline may have found a rescue space - fingers crossed. :crossed:
-
Fingers are most definitely crossed :crossed:
If it helped I would be happy to chip in for cattery space if they couldn't get to the rescue straight away.
-
I would be happy to help pay for a cattery space too Fingers crossed that something will turn up for them very soon Ten is certainly not old
-
I am pleased to confirm that these two cats will be going to Pawprints Animal Rescue in Stoke-on-Trent (providing transport can be arranged). Many thanks to: Faye; Kelly-Joy and Animal Lifeline UK - whose networking made this possible and to everyone else for their offers of help/suggestions. I haven't been on Purrs for a while and it's nice to know that people will still do there best here to rally round. xx :thanks:
-
That's fantastic news, Faye@Pawprints is a member of Purrs too so hopefully she will be able to let us know how they're getting on.
:gold stars: for all involved in saving these little ones
-
Great news! do let me know if/when things are sorted, I'll leave in this section until you let me know :thanks:
-
Do hope that transport can be arranged and great news ;D
-
So pleased to know that these dear pussies should soon be safe Hope the transport works out
-
Kelly has posted on CC that transport has been arranged for this coming Thursday.
-
Brilliant ;D
-
Fantastic! :)
-
AWSOME news - I'll be happy to donate a little something for petrol - a nice welcome meal for the Kitts. Bless these babes and the ones who saved them. xx
-
Such great news Thanks to all the kind people who have come to their rescue
-
We hope they are settling in nicely, well done to all who helped these poor cats! :thanks:
-
Do we know if all went to plan?
-
Fingers crossed all went well, just waiting for confirmation and will move the thread :)
-
can someone please coonfirm if this has happened
-
I've just had a reply from Kelly-Joy on CC. She said a rescue and transport had been sorted and then the vets rang at the last minute saying they'd found a rescue closer to home.....
-
i wonder if that is us as we told them we'd sort something out rather than see them pts. I'll have to speak to Judith.
-
Any news please?
-
Thse two are still living in the vets dining room. We had told them they would come to me if push came to shove. Judith phoned up yesterday and they have asked us to help out to find somewhere closer to home so we will probably put them on the website when we get photos. I have the only spare space at the moment so it really is for emergencies only.....
-
Ok thanks Angie
-
After all that...
Well, by the sound of things at least they are safe now and that's the main thing!
Thanks for letting me know Angie.
-
They do not know it yet, but these two cats are very lucky indeed. We have recruited a lovely couple who have volunteered to foster them! No other pets, just a quiet couple who work from home. They are desperate to give their love to something after very recently losing their 8 year old house rabbit and spotted their story on our web site.
So things are going to change for these two, although we are very grateful to our local vet who gave them shelter until we could sort something out! :briggin:
-
A happy ending indeed :)
-
Brilliant ;D
eta shall I leave here just until we have confirmation they've be rehomed or shall I move now?
-
still waiting to hear if this has happened.
-
Patience Angie, I have been cooking the dinner after having visitors to see the cats looking for homes. Whilst preparing dinner, I received a lovely call to say the female was already on her husband's lap. :) Still at the dinner table waiting for a cuppa, have just checked in here and seen the message, so before I get told off any more, I can tell you all is well so far. :)
-
what a turn around for these two, wonderful!
-
;D Yay, will move this now then!
-
Well done to all concerned
-
Just to remind you these cats are in Foster by us so will be looking for a new home and soon appearing on our website.
-
We used to have 2 or 3 'harder to home' cats on the newsflash on the main page of Purrs - if you'd like this pair to go up there then if you let me have a pic or two and a short write up I'll pop them on :)
-
thanks. Waitnig for info at the moment. Seem to be getting a few special needs at the moment. We have a blind black male, a 3-legged tabby and of course Lois and William.
-
Angie, do you want me to move this to cats needing homes section? that's why I asked before - wasn't sure whether they were 'long term fosterers' Let me know and if you want I can do that :)
-
yes please, they are safe in foster but we need to try and find homes
-
I have briefly met these two lovelies who were at the vets for their vaccinations and microchipping this afternoon.
I gather they are settling in really well, and the new fosterers will get some 'photographs and although it is very early days, I am sure they will write something about their characters too.
The vet who gave them "shelter" and along with Coventry Cat Group, saved them from pts said they would be great cats for the older person.
-
I've moved to Cats needing homes section and also edited the title accordingly. Best of luck for them both!
-
What a great story. the internet is so good at bringing people together to help in emergencies. good work everyone :)
..and good luck 'not really very old' pussy cats :)
-
Any news please?
-
As there have been no updates I'll move to sorted now.
