I will definately!!! You've only got to go to ad site names removed to see what people are doing, even though I was aware of 'back yard' breeders, being a member on this site just makes you even more aware! Especially the plight of little Bobby.

Gosh if I lived nearby, my home would be overrun with cats!! When I was younger, we had 6 cats, Sparkle, Frisky, Bouncer, Ellie, Fred and Cassie!

Shame you don't live near us then isn't it? . I think most rescues must have cats that for one reason or another need a indoor home.

We are happy to home cats to flats as long as they are indoor cats.

After recent events, my cat will never be allowed to go outside again. She won't even go near a window at the moment and is quite jumpy, especially if I have the small top window open - I have bought a pet window net, so she can't get out. (just in case!!)

If she has tolerated other cats, then it is a good idea. I would have a chat with some of hte local rescues, some will allow you to 'foster' the cat for a while first, I have done that a few times and in most cases, it has worked out. Good luck!!

Thats good, often people will want another cat even though the existing one attempts to kill anything that comes in its garden, trying to explain the cat doesnt want to share its property can sometimes be difficult!

She sounds a candidate for a new housemate

I'm sure your kitty would like a friend, you just have to pick one that will match Rosie's temperment a bit. And they will get used to each other just be prepared for a bit of hissing etc.

We got Smoke to keep Lirael company in February and then Penguin arrived last week and both times Lirael has had hissy fits but calms down after she realises they are playmates.

Though, we're thinking of another companion for her but they're going to have to be active as Smoke and Penguin can't keep up with Lirael's energy level.

Living in a flat doesnt mean you will be automatically turned down  If your local rescues do turn you down then contact breed rescues, they look specifically for indoor homes. These cats are just as needy.

Have you ever seen rosie interact with other cats? How old is she?

Has being on Purrs given you the fever for more kitties lol

I have seriously been thinking about rehoming another cat when Rosie is better (and I am back at work!). Mainly because of the decision that she will be an indoor cat, and I think she would enjoy the Company. When I return to work, it will be part-time.

I have had Rosie since she was 12 weeks old, the previous owner bought her (I don't know where from) for her Daughter, the child lost interest in a matter of days and I don't think they had thought ownership of a pet through properly.

I would be looking for an indoor cat - I don't mind how old/young, black, tortie, pink or blue!!!

Do you think she would benefit from having a playmate? I am thinking of going to a rescue centre, but not sure if they would allow me to rehome, I live in a ground floor flat.
