I am Currently a Foster for My local Shelter's they didn't allow me to keep my 1st foster cat that me and my cat loved so much, but they have rules, That is a cat shouldn't live the rest of its life imprisoned in side a flat.
I recently fostered another cat and he went on Sunday to his new family. Now my Girl is all depressed and sleeping all day & Hardly eating her meals :'(
So i am in need of looking else were for my Deaf cat Ai Chan's new feline companion.
Ai Chan is One years & 7 months of age and Deaf. She needs a very easy going cat.
She has only been with Male fosters so I think she will need a Male cat of a Similar age group.
Wouldn't mind a black, B&W. But i have a weakness for Tabby's :Luv2:, because my 1st cat I had17 years ago was a Male Mackerel tabby called Chester.(http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b78/BiancaBunnie/Chestersink.jpg)
I live in Hounslow- yes they do have a few shelters there but they have rules see above. But the exception of disabled or blind FIV can go inside a flat.
My husband drives so I could travel a bit, but he works lots so hardly gets much days off.
Thanks
Bianca

awww i hope you find her a lovely companion

Bianca, am waiting for a chap called Niall to get back to me. He's in Kent and predominantly helps "Death row dogs" but he's being inundated with cats at present too. (Bless him.) Will let you know when he gets back to me. :)
-
I'm sure there must be a cat for you somewhere - fingers crossed someone comes up with someone soon!
-
Hope you find the right cat soon :)

Have been asked if you'd consider an FIV cat....understandable if you wouldn't. But the lady asking has had FIV and non-FIV's share space with no issue.
-
I have in the past I before i got Ai Chan to Adopt a FIV pair, but by husband isn't to keen on the cost of vet after care, if the cat goes down hill some stage of its life. at the end he pays for the vet bills because he is the bred winner.

That's a no, then? Just clarifying. ;)

You're out of Celia Hammonds area....I already asked for you!

Thanks again for trying for me, I will keep seeking and hopefully something will pop up.

Will they not let you adopt a cat from them that you are not fostering, ie. Just like other members of the general public.
They do seem to have a lot of cats on their website in need of good homes.

Yes Raffles they do have lots of cats and kittens in need of good homes. only Friday i got a desperate call from them to foster a expecting mum cat, I said no because i need a break from fostering.
Just like other members of public who have houses with gardens. I think animal shelters may have to start realising that not many people can afford to buy mortgage for a House and now days in London there not many houses being built now days its flats!!!. <----er i am not sure if i made sense here sorry if it don't
-
Just a thought, but could you agree to take the pregnant foster cat on the proviso that they allow you to keep a kitten? If they are really desperate to place her maybe they would agree rather than loose you as a foster carer.

Its a great idea but they keep to their guns as always.

Hi - I am not far from you - am in Surrey. I am sure that there are a number of rescues in Surrey/West London/Middlesex that will allow cats to be homed indoors and of course that may be for specific reasons. Also understand some will also have the same policy as Haws. My local rescue recently rehomed to Staines and know that Battersea have a cattery in Old Windsor. Also ARC amongst a number of other local rescues cover Middlesex.
So would it be worth having a look at some of the surrounding rescues and check with them. Even if they have nothing at the moment you never know, a pal for Ai Chan might be the next cat in.
Here is a list from CC of the rescues in the local area.

(not all the rescues on these lists covers your area)
Hope this helps.

Thanks for your message Edd, will check it out :)

Got a phone call from RSPCA Old Windsor, just going through again with my on-line profile. so may be getting a home visitor making a phone call at some date.
-
That sounds promising, fingers crossed it all goes well ;D
-
That sounds positive. I was having a look around the RSPCA website and I did not know but found there is also a cattery at Southall which is not far from you at all. :wow:
They did have some cats wanting indoor home - they were disabled ones - one-eyed and 3 legged and FIV positive - bless them.
Good luck with Old Windsor and your home check.
Am sure the right kittie for Ai Chan and you and your husband is finding his/her way to you

We have a couple of cats who may suit you... and Hounslow is only 45 mins away by car....(just within our 1 hour's drive limit).
Take a look here: http://www.kumfykatzrescue.co.uk/Katgallery.php
Kila springs to mind, she's a lovely laid back loving cat, who just wants a warm lap to curl up in, and sh'e ok with one other cat. Also Milo - yes I know he's a bit of a tearaway, but he's growing out of that now, and is becoming a lovely companion (for another cat) and is very aware of disabilities (though has none of his own thankfully) and is very understanding. A real sweetheart.
What do you think?
-
Thank you Cumfykatz I will have a look at the gallery
