Shadow, a long-haired, bushy tailed, varied grey and white coloured female, disappeared on Sunday 12th July-09. A very large feline, Shadow is gentle natured and approachable, but although she likes to play hard-to-get, is anyones for a tummy-tickle.
With her disappeared her friend too: Fifi is a medium sized, short haired tabby and white coloured moggy. Fifi is completely different, skittish, easily frightened and lightning fast. She is difficult to approach, but very affectionate once her trust is gained.Fifi is chipped, unlike Shadow. Both are adult, neutered females with £100 reward for each.
Despite the lower photo, Fifis eyes aren't different coloured.

I hope they come home soon, they are both really beautiful.
-
sorry finnjim, but are these defiinitely the correct photos, as they don't, to me anyway, seem to fit your descriptions that well
-
Hi :welcome: to Purrs and i am so sorry it's under so sad circumstances.
I hope they are fonund soon

Let us know how things are going.

:( So sorry to hear this Finnjim to lose 1 cat must be bad enough.
I hope you have good news very soon
-
Thanks for your answers. My descriptions are of course, the moggies as seen through my eyes and may not be quite as others would see, but the photo's are definitely of Shadow and Fifi. I'll include a couple of others though, as they might give a different perspective. That is IF I can figure out how to 'shrink' them to <300 pixels! Unfortunately, it's their personalities that come to mind mostly and they aren't so easy to put to paper for me.

Fifi looks much more Ragdoll than Persian to me, and Shadow looks tabby and white rather than tortoiseshell and white
I don't in the least mean to be critical in any way - am only concerned that someone might see them and not realise they are Shadow and Fifi - they are both lovely cats, and I hope they turn up safe and well soon
-
Thanks. Actually Fifi is the turtoise-shell and white :sneaky: and Shadow, the grey and white 'Persian lookalike'. I hope this isn't the reason they haven't been found. I'm really hoping that people will look more at the photo's than my, apparently not so good description. It seems I'm temporarily prevented from printing any more posters now, at least until I can get some more ink delivered.

Hello Trigger, your messages have left me wondering about the descriptions I've given of the cats. If my desription is off, it's not going to help in the search for them. Would you be so kind as to tell me how you would desribe them?
-
we need a few more opinions, I think - but Shadow certainly doesn't look Persian to me - the face is not flat enough
Fifi looks tabby but the photo is a bit dark so may well be a tortie
-
I think Fifi is a tortie cos it looks from the first picture that she has ginger in her but maybe a better description would be a tabby tortie and white and for the othe one A long harired xxx and white with a gorgeous white tummy.......soory cant see the picture while writing this and have forgotten what colour she was.
The trails of having only one deteriating grey cell :shify: :shify:
-
I'd say raggie type - the other pic is a bit dark to tell

I agree, the longer haired cat looks more like a Main Coon to me and looks nothing like a Persian although a some Persians do have more definition to thier nose/face area nowadays. And the short haired cat looks like a tabby/white Moggy to me. I hope you find them very soon. Good Luck.

I wouldnt worry about putting a breed in, the main thing to people that dont know cats is the colours so long haired/very fluffy grey and white cat would be understood.
People dont always know the difference between a torti and a tabby so if shes torti then lost torti cat, black ginger and white would make more sense to some, if you see what i mean.
From your photos fifi looks tabby and white to me but lighting can make a huge difference!
I hope you get your girls back soon

Thanks for your answers, all help is greatly appreciated, so at the very least, I know I'm doing everything I can to help them find a way back. The description of Shadow; long haired, very fluffy and white, definitely fits the bill, I think. The torty and tabby definitions feel a bit difficult to get a precise understanding of. After looking at other peoples descriptions, it seems that Fifi probably is Like everyone says, tabby and white. It makes sense to omit the breed reference; they're both cross anyway, as it doesn't help.
Now I know what the desciption needs to be and just need to work out how I can change it, where possible, that is. Has to be time for another catnap first, thiough, that is after Hero(photo incl.) the one cat still with me, has been 'taken out'. That is, I daren't let him out on his own any more, not that he shows much inclination to be alone outside, so stay out with him.
-
I think the descriptions are fine and the pictures a big help too
lots of luck xx
:Luv2: Hero is lovely!

Sending positive vibes for your two babes safe return~~~~~Best of luck! :Luv:

Sorry to hear your babies are still missing. Have you posted on Catchat-there's a Lost and Found Section there too. Hope you hear something soon.
-
Thanks for the suggestion. Strange that seems like the one worthwhile site I'd inexplicably managed to miss. It looks like it's going to take some time to go through, so perhaps I'd better feed Hero(below) first.
I'm so grateful that he's so loyal and didn't go out that day, so he's still here.
-
I'm so sorry you have not found them yet. Maybe try a second set of leaflets, I saw some of my first leaflets in recycling bins the very next day, even some as litter!. I widen my leafleting in the second round and it was on a street I originally did not leaflet that my cat showed up. hold on in there.
-
So pleased that Hero stayed with you and do hope you find the other two

Me too!

Thanks! I have put out a few batches of posters, to widen the area covered and to replace ones torn down. I've another lot ready to go. I'm sure though, that neither cat would go any further than 100yards of their own volition and must be stolen. There have been a suspicious amount of other cats gone missing locally and mostly, iot seems over the weekends! B****y police won't take any interest either. What beats me, is why anyone would want to steal cats, when there are so many needing homes!?
-
Cats aren't covered by the law, even lost dogs are only for 7 days. What you can try though is to contact your local Met safer neighbourhood team, for Thamesmead their number is 0208 7212630 and ask them if is possible to e-mail them photos of the cats and ask their team to keep an eye out when they are on foot patrol in the neighbourhood the cat's went missing. I can't guarantee they can assist but hopefully there are some animal lovers on the team that will keep an eye out.
Also, maybe hi-light that several cats have gone missing to the local press, that could reach a whole new group of people, it just needs the right person to see it. Good luck
-
That sounds like a good idea with the safer neighbourhood team, I will get in touch with them again anmd try fron that angle. With the press, a 'readers letter' has crossed my mind, I suppose I'll just have to try harder to think how to compose one in such a way as to gather interest. At least, thats tomorrows work decided.

I hope that you get to hear some positive news from this it must be such a worry for you

The worst of course is compulsively imagining the worst that could have happened to them
