This year has really been hard on us at lostcatsbrighton we have had more cats and kittens in than ever before, we have over 50 cats and kittens in at the moment, its been the same all year, are rescue is one of the best known in the area we find so many little lost cats and return them to there owners through our lost and found section site, we also pick up lost cats unwanted cats and kittens who wonder the streets of Brighton and the surrounding areas, we re home nearly 200 cats each year and our vet bill are about £1000 per mouth, but we don't know if we can keep going as my tenancy runs out soon and we cant find new premises, I keep hoping something will come up soon as it would break my hart after the 14 years we have been going even spoke to the council to see if they could help us out with a bit of land or premises we could rent to build on.fingers crossed something will turn up Ron

Well done Ron. So good to hear people are adopting cats. It all just seems like bad news at the moment with so many being abandoned. Great to hear a bit of good news.

I should have kept quite about homing so many cats and having lots of empty pens, in the last six days we have had in 11 new little cats for homing and 2 more coming in tomorrow, but still  homed 3 three  so far this week, still worried about finding new premise's, I cant just let lostcatsbrighton pack in when all the hard work my volunteers have done and stood by me. :scared:

Ron, is there any possibility you or someone on your behalf could organise an awareness campaign in your locality outlining the problem you face and asking if anyone is able to assist?  If it could gain media attention, it might just flush out something appropriate for you?  So hate to think that after all your dedication and hard work, you're potentially going to be unable to continue with something you love with a passion.

I agree Ron, I know you have had the newspapers over at your place, do you remember anyone who came that you could contact?

Hope you find new premises soon.

There is a rescue near me facing the same problem. New landlord won't renew the lease, they had an appeal in the local paper and raised £100,000 in a week. Problem they face is they don't just rescue cats, they have horses, pigs, sheep, dogs and donkeys so they need a lot of land as well.

This is so worrying Ron. What have the local authority said about relocating your rescue?
