Title: Young Female Cat in Solihull Facing PTS if No Home/Placement Found (Uknown outcome)
Post by: cat loving nurses on March 14, 2012, 15:29:09 PM
Hi there

We are desperately searching for a home or foster placement for a young (no older than 2 years at a guess) female tabby cat. She was hit by a car 3 weeks ago, so she's had to have her hind leg amputated. We suspect she's been living on her own for a while because she's very very scared of everything. She needs somewhere quiet where she can come out of her shell in her own time. Although she hisses and spits when anyone enters her kennel, she's starting to calm down with the nurses who spend a lot of time with her and she now lets them fuss her for a short while. She's been in our hospital for 3 weeks, meanwhile we've been relentlessly ringing rescue centres and advertising her incase one of our clients could offer her the home she needs, but with no where to transfer her to, we're running out of options. The lovely staff at Coventry Cat Rescue have given us as many leads as possible, including this website, but sadly if we can't find somewhere for her to go soon, she will have to be put to sleep. Our hospital is very busy with barking dogs etc which is not helping her anxiety, and it seems such a tragedy for her to be put to sleep after she's come through her operation so well and adapted to 3 legged life so quickly.

If anyone knows of anywhere, or anyone, that can help please get in touch, we're really desperate. Thank you

Please call Leigh or Cath at the 608 Vet Practice, Solihull, on 0121 705 3044

If it was close we would take her = we have Maverick aged 10 who is mising his back leg and have just taken on a very hissy feral tabby aged 2 - Maddison who is missing a front leg, she came home with 2 other ferals and are currently in my upstairs study and will be let loose on the world at the weekend and meet my other cats and the dogs if they get that far in to the lounge

I hope someones comes forward

:( Poor love.  Here's a list of rescues in the Midlands area there may be some you've not tried:

Fingers crossed you can find at least a temporary foster home until her forever home is found

Liz. As I recall you are in/near Aberdeen?   I am in Leicester. If you are able to take her I will transport her. I am going up to Scotland in a couple of weeks time. I can foster her in the meantime.

I am going to see what Robin says and have been in touch with Moira and may call the vets tomorrow and see if she would fit in with my lot, if dogs are un- nerving her may not be the best place as we have 3 but she would be in isolation with us away from the dogs in my upstairs study along with the others who are not fazed by other cats they met about 15 of the clan tonight but it will depend on my OH who by the way is a sucker for a tabby gal - we need an 8 lettered girls name begining with M just in case  :shify:

Good news every one! Local Cats Protection think they may be able to find a placement for her - they're contacting us next week with a date and place!! Thank God! We were so upset at even the thought of letting her down!! So pleased - thank you all so so much for your words of support and advice!! I'll let you know how she gets on! Thanks again!

Hope this precious girl is ok. I can make a bed up for her in the kitchen and look after her. I'm in Leeds though and would have to be if there is no where else that can take her as hubby really doesn't want anymore cats and I guesss the four we have do take a lot of looking after.

Don't want her putting to sleep though would much rather she was with us safe and snug. Poor precious little girl  :(

All paws crossed the cats protectiong league can take her!
