Hmmmm thats was a quick change of subject  :shify: :shify:

but Misas fur is more course where its black and soft where its white and its the black part that gets the problem.

If I am lucky first he will warn me with no claws but if I dont listen he will get claws and teeth out!

Haha, yes it was wasnt it!

Crikey - claws AND teeth?!! wonder what he'd be like with someone else grooming him? Its interesting the different fur textures - I used to groom a black and white bicolour and his black fur was more coarse.

Yes have tried brushes and he doent like those either and they literally only skim the top of his fur cos its so thick. Have tried working on the ummmmmmmmmm tangles with fingers but he knows exactly what I am doing and will spin round on me and grab!

Cos of the thickness and length of his furr he does really get a tangle just a bloomin mat! I can do thev finger thing with the birmans if I dont have a comb to hand cos their fur is like cotton wool and they like being groomed but Misas fur is more course where its black and soft where its white and its the black part that gets the problem.

He is a gorgeous monster but knows where every mat is grrrrrrrrrrrr.

If I am lucky first he will warn me with no claws but if I dont listen he will get claws and teeth out!

Do you have any hints of how to teach a cat that grooming is lovely, cos my Misaman hates being groomed and will attack me, I have tried bribery but he worked out in under a minute that he got a traet for being touched by a comb, so everytime the comb touches him once, he wants a treat!!

Sorry Gill, just realised you asked about grooming - well I would have suggested bribery, but I see you've already tried that one! Is it just the comb he doesnt like? what about brushes? Mine all love being brushed with slicker brushes. I realise that won't get the tangles out, but could start with that perhaps? What about teasing tangles out with your fingers - will he let you do that?
