Hi Dawn,

I hope everything went well and Alfie is home with you.

Give him a hug from me and headbutts from my puddy tats.

All the best

Leigh 'n Franikie 'n Alfie 'n Suzie

PS. My Alfie say's "Us Alfie chaps are made of tougher stuff :) :), Alfie by name, Alfred (elf) by nature :).

PPS. That's why I love the name Alfie, it suits my Alfie so well as he looks and behaves like a little Elf :).

It looks like Alfie can come home tomorrow  :yayyy:  I spoke to the vet earlier, Alfie is still pretty much the same, they've had no breathing problems with him but he's not eating bless him.   They said he's still very withdrawn and quiet and has spent most of today hiding under his bed........I think he is just missing home though and should pick up when I get him back again.

I've not noticed any snorting, coughing or wheezing with him.......this was just so scarey how he was fine and then the next thing he's an emergency case.  I'm over the moon he's out of the woods but my only concern with not knowing what's caused it, is if it happens again.  I'm used to nothing being a case of simple illness with my cats but I would really like them to get to the bottom of this.  I'll give Alfie all your good wishes and cuddles when I see him and I'm sure he'll be sending lots of headbutts and dribbly purrs in return

Thanks everyone   I've been to see Alfie, they said he has been very quiet and withdrawn but I think he was just unhappy being there.  He hadn't eaten up until me going but he ate a full bowl whilst I was there  :Luv:  He did his usual headbutting and dribbling against my face so he's feeling a lot better and was pleased to see his mum  :Luv:  :Luv:  He's been taken out of the Oxygen tank and his breathing is a lot better and his colour is nearly normal now.  They haven't got the foggiest as to what's caused it but they will be keeping him in over the weekend to monitor him, and if he has another breathing attack, the machine is there which to be honest is a godsend......the difference in his breathing last night after just a few minutes was brilliant so whatever the cost, it's worth it.  I mentioned to the vet about a possible clot or possibly an asthma attack.....they couldn't rule either out, but may never know.  I'm sooo relieved it looks like he's going to be okay....I've been worried sick all day about him, he's one of the sweetest gentlest cats I have and I couldn't bear anything happening to him.  Poor Sally was looking for him this morning, I think she'll be just as relieved as me when he comes home.

Fingers crossed for a speed recovery especially in view of how much it cost per hour when we had a cat on Oxygen Therapy.
