We are back but its inconclusive I am afraid.
Going by the pattern of his attacks since last night they were about every 3 hours and he was due one at the vets and also he had been sleeping in his carrier, poor little boy walked into his carrier at home.
Rachel gave him loads and loads of tests starting with letting him walk around and she thought he could not turn left and was possibly blind but both of these proved to be wrong although he does seem to prefer going right.
Also he seemed to be deaf but thats not right either!
She is not sure whats going on but she says he definately is not quite right.
She has two suspicions, one is that is glucose level is too low and this is when he has an attack....this could be a tumour or other long names which I cant remember. The other one is that he has a neuro problem. His glucose level was fine when we were there but he ate Misdas food before we left.
He has just eaten again but its night that will be the problem and of course we need to know, so he will be staying in the bedroom tonight.
He also was dying to use the tray and lost 100grams in liquid and solid while we were there. She said he was full to busting.
Rachel has just rung me to see how is......so kind
She has checked his eyes and retinas are full attached and eyes reacting to light.
The plan is that if he has another attack tonight then I will be leaving very early to take him back to the vets for observation until they close tomorrow night and she will get in touch with Bristol University Hospital to warn them they may have a cat needing an emergency MRI scan at the weekend. If he goes for observation and he has an attack she is going to put him out , take bloods, check his eyes properly and do various other things that she cant do while he is awake. She will also test his glucose levels at that time before he eats.
She has told me to leave his ears alone, no more drops for the moment and she is hoping that the convenia will kick in for his ears.............he wouldnt let her look at the 'good' one which , may mean that thats not as good as it should be either. I did manage to get some drops in cos she can see them in his right ear!
So we are wishing and hoping for him to improve over night and have a good one but all the plates are still in the air sadly.
She has so much more knowledge than Will and he didnt acknowledge me while in the waiting room so I have the feeling he is a bit put out but I am afraid Franta has to come first.
I am hoping for a good night for Franta and she has said to fed him before bed.......I think I did last night but if its glucose levels it seems to run out within 4 hours.
I will post this question on a topic of its own but does any one know where in Bristol the University Animal hospital is?
