Not sure whether it would be the same for evening primrose oil, but I give Jaffa viacutin capsules and he has 1 500mg capsule per day.

Evening primrose oil dosage / dermatitis

Does anyone know what is the safe recommended dose of evening primrose oil for a cat? I'd like to get Pearl on EPO to help with the allergy dermatitis she gets during the summer and into the autumn. She's just started to get the odd patch of itchy and flakey skin around her teats and ears and I'd like to keep on top of the problem.

The EPO capsules marketed for pets seem ridiculously expensive for what they are, but the human ones, although significantly cheaper, appear to be a bit on the large side dosage wise. I can get them in 250 mg, 500 mg & 1000 mg. Any thoughts?

FYI she's fully up to date on frontline and her dermatitis is not flea related. Her main, but not sole problem is from harvest mites but those don't tend to cause problems until later.
