Bald tail on a nursing queen.

Never seen this before, wondering if anyone else has?

A stray queen gave birth here 3 weeks ago this Monday. Nursing well, kittens content, mum eating for England.

Noticed over the last few days plucked hair in the nest, but could not tell where it came from, never thought to look under the tail.

Realised today that she has plucked her tail bald on the underside from the base for at least a quarter of the tail.  I know that it is not fleas, no redness or flakey skin. Don't want to take her to the vets yet as the babes are not yet three weeks old and she would be away from them for a couple of hours and I don't want to stress her out.

Considered boredom as she has been confined to one room for nearly 5 weeks. Also considered that she has done it to line the nest, but never seen this before. Any suggestions please?
