Title: Meloxidyl, dosage?

I got this from the vet a while back for Winstons arthritis,but not used it yet.
Someone told me it can cause internal bleeding and other problems.
Wanted to give him and Smartie some,but been to scared after being  told that!
Anyone know anything about this happening.
