I am making this appeal on behalf of my friend. She recently (about 3 months ago) took on a gorgeous Ginger 18 year old as his former owner was emigrating. Initially everything was fine and "Ginge" (yes that is his name) seemed to settle in fine with their existing cat. However over the past few week Ginge has started to spray and has started being bullied by the resident kitty.
My friend has tried everything and is now at the end of her tether and has decided the only course of action is to try to find "Ginge" a new home on his own.
Although he is 18 he is still very active and agile and enjoys going outside and mooching round the garden. He is a real cuddle monster and enjoys (well tolerates) being groomed.
He is fully vaccinated and has been given a clean bill of health by the vet.
I will hopefully be getting a picture of him tomorrow.
If anyone can help with either fostering or offering this lad a permanent home please let me know as things are getting desperate.
I would be able to offer transport to most places within the Midlands.

He's ace! I hope Ginge gets a new home soon.
-
I may have found Ginge a foster home .... Bonnielass has offered him a placement. Going over tomorrow to meet the gang and see if I think Ginge will fit in OK :)
-
Fingers crossed - if I was closer and had space, I would have snapped him up, I love ginger cats.
-
I hope the foster home is ok, I have never had a ginger cat
-
OMG - he is so like Jaffa! They could be twins (well, twins born 7 years apart!). Fingers crossed his foster home works out.
-
Awww he's adorable. Fingers crossed this all works out Sam x

Well I have just returned from meeting Bonnielass and her adorable gang :Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2: :Luv2: I think Ginge will be very happy there. I will taking him over on Wednesday evening.
Of course this is only a foster home ;) ... so if anyone can offer him his very own forever home please let me know.
I just like to say thanks to Sandra for offering him a placement and it was lovely to meet you. Don't forget if Kali (the oriental tabby wants to come live with me she'd be more than welcome :Luv2: :Luv2:  )
-
It was lovely meeting you as well Sam and NO you cant have Kali :sneaky: shes staying here with me and the gang im someone has to keep the rest of them in line  ,anyway see you on wed with Ginge
-
Glad to hear he will have somewhere safe
-
pleased to hear all worked out well! :)
-
glad he is sorted for now :)
-
Well Ginge is now safely tucked up in the spare room with the grill door up so he can see my lot and they can see him, hes curled up on the bed completely un phased, even my dogs didnt bother him,all the other cats except Kali have been to have a look at him and apart from the odd hiss from him my lot just looked and then walked away, they are used to me bringing all manner of other animals home so after the initial curiosity they lose interest. The picture of Ginge dont do him justice , hes beautiful :Luv: and just a big cuddle monster ;)
-
Ahhh I'm so pleased he has settled in OK Sandra .... thank you so much for your help. :Luv2:
-
Hes a dreamboat, ive been up and half an hour with him and he snuggled up and purred for england, hes laid on the bed stretched out near the radiator ;) i dont think he will have a problem settling here, anyway Rossi says hello and can you come back for him please   ,the :naughty: has just come in after being out for 3 hrs ,she hasnt met Ginge yet so that should be interesting ;)
-
Tell Rossi next time I'll make sure I've got bigger pockets and he can hop in.
I'm sure her ladyship will do the normal "oriental" thing .... swan in, talk loudly and then pretend to be totally disinterested
-
thats exactly what she did    all Ginge did was look at her and then turn over and go back to sleep
-
UPDATE ON GINGE (NOW GEORGE ) Well hes been with me almost a week now and settled in lovely, all my lot have been to see him and apart from the odd hiss the first day they have been fine.Barney rubble has taken to sleeping in the same room as him about 2' away. hes a very vocal cat when hes hungry ;D as i found out at 5.30am sat morn (didnt get in from work till 3.30am :tired:)once hes fed and has a cuddle he goes back to sleep, hes fine with the dogs, just hissed at Axel whose kept a good distance away from him since  all in all a lovely affectionate cat.
-
Great that the old boy has been given the chance with you
-
That's lovely news :)
-
glad he is settling in!
-
Ahhh I'm so pleased he is happy
-
just to update George( alias Ginge ) is no longer looking for a new home as he has settled in here lovely and is now begining to explore his new home and i feel at 18 it would be unfair to pass him on again so hes here now for whatever time he has left, hopefully quite a while as hes a lovable if not a bit cantankerous old soul :innocent:
-
I love a happy ending! :Luv: :Luv: :Luv:
-
Great news bonnielass
-
Wonderful news
-
that's great ;D
-
Good for you hunnie :)
-
Hes the most cantankerous old boy but also one of the most loving cats, hes now exploring all the house and we go for a little walk on his lead every day ;) i darent let him out on his own as hes a bit shaky on his legs but he enjoys a little walk for 10mns, hes very vocal when he wants feeding or a drink or his cat tray doing, but hes now part of my family and will stay here for therest of his life :Luv:
